I am a transparent eyeball
doesn’t twitter pay creators based on some form of engagement?
show me the incentive and i’ll show you the outcome.
im sick for the first time in at least 5 years. being sick sucks!
what relay list is nostr:nprofile1qqsraldwhvwcjgltmxwfu7kw8dqef2692yhzheuurd7k3kfy8cxjdqgpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejsz9rhwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjmcsf3z0r ios using? because it doesn’t pick up the same relays list as nostur or primal. 🤔
we invented instant worldwide communication only to use it to complain instantly worldwide.
just installed on my wife's thinkpad. there's a dark theme with pink accents that she loves!
two bored dogs, one crying toddler, in-laws, and a head cold is life on advanced mode.
it’s insane to me to use that key, prime real estate on the home row, for something as random as caps lock. who uses caps lock? fuck it, why not make it scroll lock or some other equally obscure function
What if relay moderation looks like a bucket?🪣
We are exploring exactly that with Wotrlay, a new WoT relay we are introducing today! It treats moderation as resource allocation, where the web of trust determines your publishing capacity.
Wotrlay gives each public key a 'bucket' of publishing capacity that refills at different rates based on their social graph rank. Low-rank identities can still participate, but at a measured pace. Higher-rank identities gain more capacity organically through network participation, no manual approval needed.
Try the public instance at wss://wotr.relatr.xyz
This proof-of-concept integrates Relatr for dynamic ranking and is built in Go using the great Rely framework from nostr:npub176p7sup477k5738qhxx0hk2n0cty2k5je5uvalzvkvwmw4tltmeqw7vgup. Kudos to him for it and the WoT example that inspired this project.
If you want to dig deeper, we've published an article that walks through the bucket model, progressive rate limiting, newcomer onboarding, and why this approach avoids auth friction while keeping the relay permissionless in practice.
All the code for this project, is open source and is made to be run by anyone 💛

sounds like the leaky bucket algorithm for rate limiting! you could probably use golang.org/x/time/rate’s Limiter to get this behavior instead and hand rolling it
it’s probably broken but here’s the design doc: https://peerfile.link/about
i built a poc that uses nostr as the signaling layer for webrtc. it works well for signaling but webrtc is a huge pita once you get outside of the lan.
😂 that’s me swapping different followsets to my main kind: 3 following list
20 years ago me and 4 friends crammed into a shitty honda civic and drove 2 hours to see a show. it’s wild stumbling across video footage. we’re the teenagers head banging in the front row lmao
you might want to set your description as the -summary tag
ahh, you’re setting a description as the d tag? that might be the issue. i think you want to set a stable identifier in the d tag. like -d “my-article” where you never change that value. then later you can edit the article content, change the title, etc. just make sure you post again with that same d tag value and it will show as an edited version.
it’s exhausting and why im not traditionally on social media. nostr was different but increasingly it’s ping ponging from outrage to outrage. im growing numb and less interested. im here for hacking not politics.
north and east, to that well known island. was aiming for the area just southeast of the canal bridge but push came to shove and we fell in love with a place just a little further down the road.
i think im ready for fall.
moody weather, quiet streets, the sound of rain, wood stove. hygge.
it’s currently hard coded for my area. which probably isn’t far off for you. i will consider making it configurable and sharing :)
lol i have leet level immunity. been there done that. 🫂
ive been doing something along these lines to better understand my local tides. when I get to the water i take a screenshot of the app and a photo of the shore. overtime it’s been helping me mentally translate what the tide report means for my local area.
i saw there was a festival over the weekend, i bet there were some impressive wood boats.
