This is a burden of proof fliparoo. These people claim to be our leaders and use that as moral justification to steal from us to fund their operations.
The burden of proof is on them to show they are not under the influence of addictive substances, bribery, blackmail, or other things that compromise this leadership and the claims they make.
People are quite justified to assume the worst until shown otherwise, and I’d say the burden of proving otherwise in this power imbalance should be a high bar indeed.
