I am really thankful for the folks on NAS. Everyone here seems pretty mature and level headed for the most part. I guess where I see it more is when I go to other instances. I've gotten myself involved in the indie web these past few weeks as well and am seeing the same trend from people there too. Maybe it's coming more from the gen Z crowd. Millennial and older gens might be more rational. 😅
I think the most disappointing trait I've seen in most who consider themselves "left" is the complete disassociation with anyone who doesn't aligned with their world view. I see it here in the Fediverse, I see it on the indie web. Politically I consider myself more center right, but I would NEVER try to censor or attempt to eradicate someone's online presence because they consider themselves "left" politically. Hard to see any possibility of unity when this is the norm these days.

Never ever. Or the politicians who promoted this ridiculousness. Blaine Higgs (Premier of NB) is now getting glorified because he's standing up against trans ideology being pushed in schools. Everyone is forgetting how he treated the unvaccinated, how senior citizens died alone, people lost their jobs, were prohibited from going to events, were nearly prohibited from getting groceries, etc. But all of that is forgotten now? It amazes me how fast people forget, how easily they play us. 😠
