Imagine being a lawyer for a banker accused of bashing his neighbour and wanting name suppression. And then imagine arguing, with a straight face, that the media are disproportionately publicising crimes by white guys.

And imagine saying (and he said it, I shit you not) “The type of media reporting shouldn’t be tolerated at this point FOR THIS TYPE OF PERSON.”

Because of course media highlighting crimes by brown folks, young folks, poor folks is simply the natural order of things, right?
