Politicians performing opinion fellatio on gullible bitcoiners, news at 11.
GM!
I'm still learning the nuances of the nostr protocol and the details of how it all works. It some ways the culture here reminds me of Bitcoin back in 2012 or so, kind of rough around the edges but with so much promise, excited developers, and lots of exploration.
I have lots of reading to do!
It is not the differences between politicians that worry me; it is what they all agree upon.
The day the success of Bitcoin depends on what politician is in office somewhere is the day it has failed.
There are no liberty minded politicians. Their entire purpose for existence is to impose their will upon people who would otherwise choose their own way.
If it weren't for the police, politicians would just be revolting people with terrible ideas you could ignore.
A politician being pro-bitcoin is like a prison warden being pro- lock picking.
Unpopular opinion: Bitcoin does not need politicians, state entities, or legal tender mechanisms to succeed.
It only needs for them to get out of the way.
I normally use #Damus on iOS for nostr, and is what I used to create my keypair, follows list, etc. It works well. I am trying to get my desktop browser setup working through the #nos2x extension to Chrome, and that part was easy. Nsec entered, same relay list added, etc.
However, after logging into snort.social I only get really partial information. It has my followers list intact, but my following list only has a couple accounts, and nearly all my posts are missing.
Is there something more I should be doing?
Coyote creek trail head, south San Jose, CA. Life is good.
Itās just feasible now on commodity GPUs (mid-range gaming ones) to perform semantic analysis and retrieval of documents using a persistent vector database.
Where this is gaining traction right now is businesses (and individuals) semantically indexing their own private document stores, to be able to search and retrieve on them in a similar way to how Internet search engines do the public Internet on a much larger scale.
A decentralized version of this is conceivable in concept, but there are all the usual issues of trust, authentication, data integrity, etc. that arise in the context of multi-agent systems with bad actors.

The first time I learned this was when I ditched TV over 30 years ago. Not being familiar with the current trendy shows or news talking points was a little awkward sometimes, but then I started realizing there were many people who could talk about nothing else.
Social media is 10x this.
Great read. I donāt see this subject treated in depth much anymore.
