Day One is on, and so is the heat! 🔥 The first wave of attendees arrived at the Awake Center early to register and get their amazing lanyards. What a vibe! It definitely has an early adopters feel all over this unconference.
Let me take this first unconference day report to give thanks! 🫶
First, we want to thank Govinda for letting us use his fantastic home at Awake as our own for these three days. He even handcrafted the beautiful wooden podium on our main stage. Please look at it and admire the art and thought put into it. (see attached pictures) 🎭
Keeping the Pura Vida mentality with every single one of her designs, we are thankful for #[1] Her artwork is all over Nostrica, and it appears on the gorgeous swag that pays homage to all the devs and nostr supporters. (Pic below) 🎨
The sweetest person I've met since I got here, Nikki #[2] , put together a gorgeous play area for the kids at Nostrica. Let's thank her and her baby for living under the Nostr principles and sharing with the community. 🙏👶
We could thank many people, but these are the ones for today. We will continue thanking everyone. I'll probably miss some, but this couldn't happen without all of you plebs that make Nostr the coolest place on the internet, and now in Costa Rica. 🇨🇷
Back to what most of you are waiting to hear about, what's happening at the stages. I've spent most of my day at the Workshop, where privacy and development have been the main topics. Nostr OGs have been on fire.🔥🔥🔥 Actually, I guess every speaker and attendee here is an OG. Something really hot is happening here, and is not just the temperature!
On the main stage, #[3] and #[4] have taken the lead. They need no introduction. Having them moderate and improve how they do is art on its own. Am I thanking people again? Can't help myself...

Uvita, Costa Rica - Nostricans have started registrations, and the overall feel-good vibe is on! 🏄Surf lessons, market strolls, and bitcoin ⚡lightning invoices are popping up on local merchants' phones everywhere.
The heat has been a welcoming hug to all foreigners just getting used to the 🌴tropical weather. Organizers have been trying to remind people to keep drinking 🍶water and trying to remember to do it themselves. The unconference is just starting, but the momentum is thriving, and we expect to see what the new days will bring!
