I just pushed a new version of more-speech that improves the way I was dealing with replies and citings. I'm happy because I still have enough time for some chores and a bike ride.
See ya!
Welcome #[4]. Enjoy Nostr. The more the better -- especially journalists.

>Hi nostr:npub1xm8eqzpz69yaf98zs88fene26wcca3hqfueg4qkdxm8kv2v547mslhzdar 👋 Welcome!
Relays are supposed to send an EOSE message to clients when the last of the data that the clients have requested has been sent. I think it stands for End Of Selected Events or something like that.

>What's EOSE?
Why does eden.nostr.land (and others) not send EOSE when they've sent all the requested events?
Morgen Nostr,
Today I'm working on cleaning up the way notes are displayed in more-speech. Specifically replies, roots, and citings. I'm also getting rid of the folder structure in the main window.
I'd heard that from others, which is why I decided to invest the time in the series.

Nighty Night Nostr-folk. I just watched the end of the first season of Picard. It was better than I thought it would be.
Not so much anymore.

That used to be the motto of the ACLU and the Democrats. Not anymore. Thank Goodness it lives here!

Nostr is FREE. That means that people you disagree with will come here and say things you disagree with. People you think are harmful will espouse what you think of as harm here. People with political viewpoints that you despise will loudly proclaim their views here. People with sexual or religious viewpoints that you despise will loundly proclaim their views here.
If you don't like that, if you feel like you need to stop them, you are in the wrong place.
But they _will_ come here; and there's no way to stop them. Nor should there be. You, of course, do not have to listen.

The DeSantis interview is very good. Lots of information. Lots of details.
Buenos Días Nostralogians.
It is a lovely morning here in North Central Wisconsin. I am avidly listening to the DeSantis interview hosted by Musk.
I suggest that it won't be long before such announcements will be made on Nostr.
Nighty Night Nostrlings. We're up here at our Northern Hideaway. The new fridge is installed and working. It's peaceful and lovely. Life is good.
Give me likes or give me death!

There is nothing that anyone can do to stop me from creating advertisements and targetting those ads at individuals. Indeed, zapping is even better for ad targetting. Zap receipts are very public at the moment and I could quite easily set up a system that tracks who zaps who and even infer why.
It's a FREE NOSTR, and you have to take the bad with the good.

I _AM_ entitled to like a note. Indeed, there is nothing anyone can do to stop me from liking a note. If you take away the 'like' button, I can reply with "I like this". If you take away the reply, I can quote the ID of the note and say "I like this". If you hide the ID, I can copy the text of the note and say "I like this". If you make all that very difficult, I can take a screenshot and post that.
Likes cannot be stopped. Nor should anyone try to censor them. It's a FREE NOSTR. Deal with it.

If I encountered an API that forced me to pass a handler for no reason other than to force me handle a result, I'd be miffed. The handler is inconvenient to say the least. For example, handlers prevent the simple composition of functions.
I cannot say f(g(x)) if g returns its value through a handler.
Instead I have to do something horrible like this:
interface H {handle(x)};
class H_imp : H {x get(); handle(x) {this.x = x;}};
H h = new H_imp;
g(h, x);
f(h.get);
