#bitcoin

keep it on ice

ā€œ#Bitcoin mining is pretty much deadā€

so what’s the wisdom of the crowd, is #WoS considered acceptably safe, specifically in #Canada?

I’m having a very hard time to justify using it when I have #Phoenix for no-KYC sats, and #Alby/#Zeus integration for sats from KYC sources (#Shakepay’s shakingsats/sats rewards, etc.)

#asknostr

if Terry Pratchett ever wrote a Discworld book that featured #bitcoin, I’d like to imagine the cover would look something like this

✨

CASIO FTW

also #COFFEECHAIN

best non-custodial lightning wallet I’ve come across in my research

nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8 and nostr:npub1tjkc9jycaenqzdc3j3wkslmaj4ylv3dqzxzx0khz7h38f3vc6mls4ys9w3 have very compelling videos

the way I think about it is:

- WoS for pocket money/sats from KYC sources

- Phoenix for more meaningful working-money/sats from non-KYC sources

- cold-storage for sats you won’t touch for 10+ years

with fees this high, my inconsistent no-KYC DCA is going straight to #lightning in Phoenix wallet

until I get an unexpected fiat windfall, I think the days of depositing to my cold-storage are long gone

FINITE SUPPLY

wake me up when we don’t live in a world where prolific politicians make university professors/academics their lil bitch

Larry Fink ā€œhasn’t thought aboutā€ the future value of #bitcoin

HA!!!!

I saw the thumbnail and nearly gagged…but i’ll give it a go, on your recommendation

I have a romanticized viewpoint on the word, ā€œInspireā€/ā€œInspirationā€

the absence of theft doesn’t therefore translate to automatic vindication

and Im more looking at Bezos the person, not Amazon

take this paragraph into account:

ā€œDespite criticism over his relatively low philanthropic giving compared to his net worth, Bezos has begun to increase his charitable contributions. In 2020, he committed $10 billion to the Bezos Earth Fund to combat climate change and has made donations to various causes including education and homelessness.ā€

the title already establishes that he made ~$8B an hour every hour last year

$10B is an insult

building bitcoin mines in Africa is inspiring;

fighting for racial justice against all odds is inspiring;

pretty much anything where you devote more of a percentage of your time/energy/money (especially more than 60 mins) is an inspiration

- the guy lives on megayachts, asking European govts to move bridges for them

🤷

I guess I find the wild, rampant accumulation of filthy riches at breakneck speeds - while billions in the world barely scrape by on $1 a day wages - sickening

but that’s just me

THESE ARE MY SATS.

THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT,

BUT THESE ONES ARE MINE.

the closing paragraph to this article is sickening:

ā€œWhile Bezos's financial achievements may seem beyond reach, they serve as a testament to the power of vision, innovation and persistence. His story offers hope and inspiration, reminding people that with dedication and strategic thinking, significant achievements are possible.ā€

🤮

there’s nothing ā€œinspiringā€ about someone earning what the average worker earns over an entire career ā€œin just under 13 minutesā€
