Racism in the US is being rapidly dismantled. Trump ended DEI, making it clear that everyone must be given equal opportunities regardless of race. For example, the US administration is using legal tools to fight universities who refuse to implement this standard of treating all potential students equally.

Of course, considering the vast differences in rates of violence by blacks and others in both the US and Canada, equal opportunity is unlikely to lead to equal outcomes...

Trump and the GOP intentionally weaponized identity politics and manufactured outrage by focusing on the racial component of DEI. 1) race is central to a host of systemic historical and present day injustices 2) “ending DEI” definitely doesn’t end racism, which would require not only a change in policies, but change in hearts and minds of people and 3) DEI encompasses more than race.
