Do you go to the sidebar -> backup keys -> copy my secret key and then paste it from your clipboard? It should definitely start with nsec.
Did you add a password to encrypt your nsec? I haven't done that so don't know the workload to copy it

I was able to copy my nsec from amethyst and use it when I tried 0xchat. Don't know if this helps but it's a data point
