During the week of August 14th, Iโll be in DC attending a meeting with many of my colleagues in the nuclear industry, and Iโm using this opportunity to start educating them more directly on the benefits of bitcoin mining for nuclear.
Miners can quickly go from initial deployment to full scale operation, can be a buyer of first, or last resort, and can precisely balance grid loads by soaking up excess generation or curtailing in response to grid demand side stress.
I am hopeful that this meetup will serve as the starting point for many nuclear professionals to investigate bitcoin more deeply.

Boomers, Gen Xers and even older millennials have always lived in a world where NO ONE drives a car or even anything more powerful than a bicycle. They have been trained, and the market has been largely forced, into making sure that EVERYONE rides only busses and trains.
When they see people driving what they perceive to be Bitcoin Formula 1 cars, they are scared shitless. Never mind the fact that you are driving it yourself without a professional, highly regulated driver.
Bitcoin education is showing them that they aren't Formula 1 cars, they are Corollas, and with a little practice, some responsibility and humility, driving a car is actually really easy and convenient. And, showing them that the bus drivers they have been trusting their entire lives, are actually robbing them, drunk, and about to careen into a canyon.
