I just published Episode 835 of Bitcoin And . . .
In the second half of the show I read a letter from Sen. Elizabeth Warren to Kristin Smith, Chief Executive Officer of the Blockchain Association.
In the letter she very explicitly calls out the use of ex-federal government employees being leveraged for the Association's lobbying efforts and calls for this "revolving door" to end.
I don't think Liz understands that she just fired shots across the bow of every single industry in the U.S.
The FDA regulators that have gone to work for Ag and Pharma are numerous and this "revolving door" has been a mainstay of their operations for decades as well as Energy, Transportation etc.
I urge everyone to send that letter to the Boards, Presidents, C-Suite execs of as many mega corporations as possible with a cover letter stating clearly, "and you are next".
I think this letter could become the single, gravest mistake Liz could have made if these executives realize that it not only exists but that it represents a stated threat to the entire way they do business.
Do not be afraid to pick up the weapon of your enemy and use it against them.

Hence the term crony capitalism
If America eventually has a civil war or if states start to succeed someday, what do you think will happen with nuclear weapons? Will individual states become nuclear nations? What might that mean for future boarder conflicts and nuclear missile placements?
Not expecting answers, because there aren't any. Anyone who thinks that the US won't survive probably isn't thinking about the nukes.
Are there bounties that plebs can donate to to economically contribute to bitcoin developers who are working on solutions that we value? I want to vote with my sats. β‘β‘
Its good to be able to get into a real high fee environment for a while. Getting out of the theoretical and into the actual will help grow demand and therefore development on more layer-2 solutions.
Lightning is great for payments, but not for long term wealth preservation IMHO. Layer 2 solutions that allow for offline signing devices and multisig will be in demand soon enough.
I prefer Pheonix at the moment. Breez had too many failed payments. I haven't tried the new Zeus one, but I thought I heard that they get a lot of forced channel closures.
Used it a few times a couple years ago, but never really dug in... It's on my near term list of rabbit holes though.
Thank you for this useful hack β‘

Video version of my conversation with nostr:npub1dtgg8yk3h23ldlm6jsy79tz723p4sun9mz62tqwxqe7c363szkzqm8up6m is now live on YouTube π€
We took a deep dive into Communism vs Capitalism and talked about many of the misconceptions of each.
I hope you enjoy it.

Yes Iβm very bullish on frost. I was kinda wondering why we havenβt seen more development on it and I thought it was maybe because it needed CTV or something. Frost has some substantial improvements over current multisig. π₯βοΈ
Is frost possible now or is a soft fork required? Will watch video later.
The number of really dumb ideas that I hear people at work defend as if their lives depend on it has increased dramatically in the last couple of years.
Funny you should put it this way... I just used these terms last night to describe nostr.
Nostr is a protocol; Damus and Amethyst are interoperable clients. This is just like how bitcoin is a protocol and bluewallet and nunchuck are interoperable clients.
If itβs just text based stuff I sometimes use -
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.6/en-US/text/shared/01/qrcode.html?&DbPAR=SHARED&System=MAC
or a more complex toolkit -
https://github.com/gchq/CyberChef
Automatic111 I think has a QR Generator plugin if you wanted image manipulation.
Thank you! Zaps sent β‘
I use the command-line utility qrencode, it's available in most package managers.
https://github.com/fukuchi/libqrencode
If it is just for one-off stuff these days most browsers let you share links in QR code format, when you pull up the qrcode you can modify the text box as you see fit
If looking to customize qr codes, toss in "styled qr code" into GitHub and I'm sure a few WebApps will pop up
Thank you! Zaps sentβ‘
Anyone know a self hosted, open source QR code generator?
Will zap for help here β‘
