where to find the volume settings on these things ๐ฉ
i dont disagree, but i think its relevant to point out that before getting used to the other units (i.e. mBTC or ฮผBTC) werent there early users who felt Bitcoin should just shift the decimal points over time ๐

i wouldnt mind a new half life
today drove out to miaoli, taiwan where they farm mitten crabs. mostly known as a delicacy in shanghai cuisine, these crabs were mostly known to be from the jiangsu province in china

mitten crabs mature in seawater and spawned in freshwater. during the fall months the mature crabs make their way back to where they come from.
taiwan has it's native hairy crab species, but for a couple decades the entrepreneurs in miaoli decided to farm the more sought species from across the strait.

up until this year ive only bought these at markets and for most of my life only had these crabs in fancy restaurants. fun to enjoy food where it is being produced ๐ฆ
i was on a cooking book binge awhile ago. i learned a lot from a book called "ratio" (ruhlman) which i have saved as an epub on my phone along with others from libgen.
instead of looking up recipes from search engines which are almost always terrible slop, i search the book(s) instead and keep digital bookmarks ๐ค
woke up early to head to yehliu fishing harbor to bring home 16 rock crabs for 31,000 sats ๐คค

in the core vs knots context, datacarrier encompasses more transactions in Knots than Core
in the only-looking at core v30 context, datacarrier now allows multiple outputs instead of one to be treated as standard transactions to relay across the network as unconfirmed transactions (among peers that also acknowledge those new standard rules)
if you feel a way about the spam, take the time to learn how to apply the patches
it's good homework ๐ฅณ
im referring to the code comment change to datacarrier in v26 which limits datacarrier to outputs (meaning input-styled arbitrary data storage schemes like inscriptions would not be in scope)
on another note, v29.1 has the minrelay fee changes (reduced from 1 to .1) backported
so users should just stomach the datacarrier code comment changes in exchange for security patches?
what if users simply dont want to relay garbage (inscriptions, stamps, large op_returns, etc) as unconfirmed transactions to their peers? shit out of luck?
i wonder how they prepare crab there ๐ค
my only reference is a lobster platter i had in baja california, mexico like a decade ago that came with beans, tortilla, and salsa
depends on the crab.
these freshwater mitten crabs are mostly farmed, its sustainability comes down to economics as mitten crabs technically are invasive to Taiwan (taiwan has its own native species of hairy crabs ๆฏ่น so ecological damage is somewhat limited)
ocean crabs have size requirements to meet and there are harvest quotas throughout the year -- there are even times out of the year where females aren't sold
๐ค
...and then theres imported seafood
it's crab season again ๐ฅณ
this time of year has mitten crabs filled with eggs, better escort them with some meat-filled mud crabs
~181,000 sats

when rewatching breaking bad as bitcoin goes higher and higher, it starts to make the show into a comedy
still excellent
i can confirm this anecdotally, i usually have anywhere between 2-6 knots peers on my node, i see them much more frequently then lets say last year ๐

our baby snake is 4 months old today ๐ฅณ TIL of a long-standing family tradition of ๆถๆถ, literally translated as "anti-drooling ceremony. the idea is that babies stop drooling when they grow up so everyone getting together to find ways to soak up all the baby's drool early should make them grow up faster.

....so obviously one surrounds babies with cookies, breaking off pieces to soak up his drool ๐คญ
these traditions make no sense, but at least it's fun. the family goes around in circles and come up with funny rhymes.
ๆถๆถๆถไนพไนพ๏ผ่ถ็ทๅซ็ธ็ธ (soak up all your drool, so you can start saying daddy)
ๆถๆถๆถ็็๏ผไนไฝ ่ฝ่ฉฑๆไปฃ่ช (soak up all your drool, so you'll behave and gain understanding)
this tradition is still practiced in Taiwan and Fujian province of China. some use fancy pastries, doughnuts, or cakes; we went for traditional cookies ~2500 sats
