GM, you can tell a tech will last if it consistently attracts young people. I have no idea how many young people use Nostr, but given that it's very different than other platforms, some cohort of young people at some point will make it popular. Maybe not now, maybe not tomorrow, but it's inevitable as long as it's around.

One day in fourth grade, a Chinese boy walked into my classroom alongside my teacher. He was timid and did not understand a word of English. My teacher asked me to be his friend and help him learn, and I gladly accepted. It started out just helping him with homework or eating lunch with him, but eventually we became really good friends. He was goofy and loved to pull pranks. He would come over to my house and bring me gifts from home and we grew really close. But on the last day of fourth grade, he had to go back to China and I didn’t have a way to stay in touch. We completely lost communication and all I knew was his American name, Kevin.

Last night I got a strange DM on Instagram from someone with 0 followers named Kevin Zhang. It turns out that he got a VPN and got Instagram and found my account 9 years later. We have been texting back and forth and he has school every day from 7am - 9pm which is crazy. Anyway just wanted to share!

Also the third picture is something he drew in his free time, it’s pretty incredible.
