I understand the sentiment, but I’d argue even if you don’t grok btc, it’s ok to fomo 1% of net worth into it, and then start learning.

A lot of people won’t invest the time to learn until they have some skin in the game.

Sounds as though those methods aren't widely used if you're not too familiar wirh them. In the US I've been using Bisq to accumulate by paying via Zelle since 2019. Most everyone knows Zelle here.

I'd prefer to see promotion bisq over shakepay but the necessary fiat rails may not be there in Canada.

Nostr is the best Lightning "app". Using Lightning to buy food, beer, and merchandise at a #Bitcoin conference a few times a year is cool. However, people do this so infrequently that it's almost seen as a novelty. Using Lightning to pay creators, donate to causes, and provide people with valuable feedback is even cooler. People do this all day long, every single day on Nostr. Zaps are fueling Lightning adoption.
