Foundry has 27% hashrate for which the 6 block confirmation rule of thumb would become *~15 blocks* to be 99.9% sure that they can't reorg the chain to reverse a transaction.

The 6 block rule of thumb is based on 10% hash rate.

I like Muun because it so so easy for beginners while still being self-custodial. WoS is custodial; right?

Muun is also not really self custodial. People just believe that for some reason, like i did for quite a long time;)

OP_VAULT eliminates the need to trust key management hardware, which to date has only been possible by using a diversity of devices in a multisignature setup.

This wasn't on my 2023 bingo card, but I'll take it. Time to teach Peterson some lightning, self custody, and perhaps plant a seed regarding Nostr given his many forays with censorship.

Hear me out: a nostr relay that asks for a micro payment with Cashu ecash (1-10 sats?) for each note a user wants to send.

I see several benefits over normal Lightning payments:

- better privacy through ecash

- no fees: 1-10 sat payments easily possible

- non-interactive: no invoice creation and back and forth, ecash could be directly attached to a nostr note

- speed: Lightning payments can get stuck, bad for UX

- efficiency: a relay could collect ecash and "cash out" onto their own non-custodial Lightning wallet once a day / every hour

Benefits of Lightning:

- can be completely non-custodial

Thoughts? If anyone is interested in exploring this, I'd be up for a brain storm!

Makes sense, but in real world it requires some infra/business that actually sends you the notification, no?

Does VAULT provide any solution for a feature that I would like: "if there's no action done with this wallet for 5 years, then automatically move all coins to this predefined address"? (my use case is automatic inheritance solution)
