Welcome! 🫂

Both "web3" and "blockchain technology" are considered meaningless buzzwords by most people here and often times these are seen just as marketing of VC funded scams to people that have no idea what are they getting. So I bet you will learn something new about these terms here ☺️

On the other hand you will find a lot of people here that are fans of actual decentralized networks, open protocols, and especially bitcoin.

What if that's not what the party wants at that point or what if you have incompatible opinion?

In communism, what job do you think you would get assigned?

I don't understand the AT Protocol side, so I can't really comment, but it sounded like PDS is sort of a required part of the architecture that runs on the server, it's quite heavyweight to run yourself and not really intended to be run on your phone. I'm also drunk fwiw.

I think the idea is that running just relay isn't good enough when your phone dies and it's nice to have an option to back up and restore all your notes from somewhere seamlessly and in an interoperabile way.

On top of that media needs separate handling because of size and serving constraints.

I think that's not a great match for nostr, because on nostr it's desirable for your phone to be able to just collect the events & files and back them up locally or encrypted in cloud of your choosing.

That said it's ok to have a competition of online services to provide such backup functionality too.

Yeah, this is already doable by a combination of tools, but there probably isn't a single smooth experience for this yet.

The big benefit of nostr is that you can backup all your data and rebroadcast it later to different relays. This makes it a better experience than getting rug pulled on mastodon... (Happened to me when the instance I was using shut down)

You can rebroadcast to another blossom or file server and then update your notes that reference it (using the same capability as is used for post editing).

The joke is a word play on the word "thoughs", because "thoughts and prayers" is used commonly as a way to wish someone better without doing any action, but people often don't consider the word "thoughts" in the context of actual daily thoughts that one may have.

So the joke is that when you send thoughs, are you sending thoughts like "I'm thinking about getting a sandwich" or what other thoughts you actually send?

When you send someone thoughts and prayers, what thoughts are you usually sending?

I would definitely send some sats to the person that finds periodic pattern 😅

I'm sorry I can't answer how my crypto trade is going, I'm just heading into a tunnel, haghsggsggs hahrrere shhhh........

It was a very stupid ending. In a way it was better to not watch it.

I'm a father to a 2 year old... I have seen liquids squirt out of every possible hole and I have seen things where they don't belong every other day and I'm destined to eat whatever leftovers didn't get too smashed and filled with saliva. So I would probably eat the tic tac without much fuss 😉
