Damus subscribes to threads when you open them. So they are kind of like chatrooms? You could have a "chatroom mode" for replies to root since thread notes are shown in chronological order and stream in realtime... replies to non-root events could behave like normal tweets. Hmmmm.
You can mine events without a signature, so you could pay someone for a nonce if you didn't want to do the work yourself.

Pow is done client side and it's up to relays to accept or reject. For the client side i was thinking about having ways to declare a post as needing a certain amount of pow to reply to, might be an interesting feature to filter spammy replies clientside. Right now there aren't any relays that do anything with pow, but perhaps soon once we have a NIP

how long does branle take to do 10 bits? It takes nostril about 300 milliseconds. 10 is probably not that good for spam protection.
