I appreciate the goal here. But PoW is throwing away value to the ether, and will create a disincentive to using Nostr.
We need a mechanism to pass that value to the viewers/recipients instead.

The goal is to try and create an open network for monetized songs and podcasts, and it uses a protocol which I had written before (https://github.com/ymilkessa/ops0) to implement DRM. Sign up to the waitlist if interested.
I’ve looked at other options for decentralized music. They don’t seem to fit well with the revenue needs of most artists and fall short of addressing the fundamental problems with the mainstream music and podcast industry of the internet.

A better way to phrase that statement would be that replicas cannot win unless, at the very least, they offer a significantly better user experience than their mainstream counterparts.
