Which one? Honestly there aren’t many, certainly none involved in BTC mining chips. I already work at a big tech co. just not doing #Bitcoin stuff. Saw your post on Tw*tter re a Bitcoin jobs recruiter, which is very cool. Many talented people trying to find their way into the “ecosystem” to combine passion with existing skills.
Thanks for asking, Brad. I’m self-funded from my fiat-job so it is more of a “vision” than a “project” at this point. Currently I’m prototyping in software and FPGAs ways to improve hashing paths. My background is in server hardware platform design. Ideally I would want to buy ASIC chips and focus my work on platform level, but there aren’t really good ASICs off the shelf so I’m diving deeper out of necessity. Every company treats platform as an after thought (general throughout server industry but especially true in mining) so there are some sh*t Designs out there.
My thesis is that the dominant miners are not nearly as efficient or well-designed (hw, fw, and sw) as they would lead one to believe. They already dominate, so they can “coast” on ppl eating up their supply. It is unbelievable there are no challengers from the US* but I believe this is the path forward to securing the mining supply long-term. *Any democratized country would do but I’m US based and chip industry is strong here.

What would happen to $BTC mining if there was a hard “chokepoint”? shut off all exchanges, no (direct to fiat) off ramp and the only on ramp was mining?
