Thanks! Always thinking about you and Fishy! Looks like life is good over there. Snow has been great here….spending a lot of time in the mountains, in the rink and out on the ponds!

Connie, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

But I just turned some of our Christmas photos into Norman Rockwell paintings……

If only there was a sparsely populated area, with cold temperatures, and direct access to an immense amount of natural gas, with a strong rule of law, highly educated population, with a strong contingent of the world’s best engineers, who know how to build out immense energy infrastructure projects. Imagine a place that no longer has to abide by CER (clean electricity regulation), like the rest of its country.

Tomorrow’s announcement of an MOU between Berta and the pale ghosts of the Laurentian valley isn’t about a pipe to the coast. It’s about cheap land, cold temperatures, one of the world’s largest reserves of energy, and the carve out of CER that has kept 100 billion dollars out of the province of Alberta.

As a man, I spend a lot of my time staring out the window in silence. And knowing the best bathroom in every building I’m in.

Our next trip isn’t going to be for a few years, but some ideas I’m kicking around (minus all of the ridiculous accessories, unnecessary weight, gizmos and gadgets.

Needs are seven belts and seven beds, and fits in a shipping container. Trailer would be a battery pack, kitchen, water carrier/outdoor shower, and storage. Tow vehicle are belts and beds.

Last trip covered most of western North America, northern Mexico/Baja, and Nee Zealand.

Next trip will either be Australia or Central/South America.

I think I’m leaning towards two builds. Either a Troopy with pop top, or Sprinter 144 pop top. I need seven seat belts and sleeping for 7.

So inside of both would be used for driving and sleeping, and any extra storage I can squeeze out of them.

Then I’d pull a trailer that would be my kitchen, water carrier for sink/outdoor shower and drinking water, and power pack, and once again sort out as much storage I can muster after those needs are filled.

Ah, it’s the best kind of shitstorm. You’ll love it and be amazing at it!

I think it’ll be about 18 years of smouldering embers…..can’t really complain though. I got myself into this mess.

😂 you’ll need a big truck! It’s just life with 5 kids….just can’t get on top of anything.

It’s been 3 for a few weeks.

Hey John, nice to meet you and thanks for getting back to me. We got back from a year long trip a few months ago in our current rig (converted motorhome built by ujoint off road) and I’m always looking for new platforms to build out for the next adventure.

The biggest limiting factor for me is that I’m traveling with five kids. The converted motorhome served us well but it was big, didn’t like having to ship it RORO……so I sold it and am looking for something different. The Land Cruiser troopy, with a small off road trailer is my latest idea…..still early stages though and in the process of planning out the next journey.

As I’ve aged, autumn has become my favourite season. Comfort trumps all, unless I’m by a pool, lake or ocean. Then I can bare the heat.

It’s like shitting your pants and then deciding to change your shirt.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs?

Travels to distant lands…….there are few other things on my walls that are a bit a pho pah these days 😬😜
