Maybe more people should think with their brains to engineer better solutions.

It is, but if resources are scarce, you can understand one's reluctance to split those resources over multiple people. It's easy to have a family when you can throw money at them and make everybody happy. It's harder to do so when you're broke and miserable, and the emotional positives are washed away by "the parasites" draining you.

Everything else seemed like a prudent and safer option.

I've tended to take a view that people didn't know better back then, and that in 2023, people should know better.

OTOH, people decided that getting pregnant during peak pandemic scare was a good idea for some reason which seemed *insane* to me. It's almost morally wrong to have kids in that situation!

Do the Romanians have free movement yet? :-)

I was going to point to the perpetually unemployed single Ossi stereotype, but I suspect they're not willing to work construction.

*We can't even maintain the bridges because we're too stupid to.*

The German aversion to debt leads you guys to act awfully stingy versus just eating some debt in order to paper over things and you know, have nice things.

Even to be somewhat more fair, the issues that hobble a Chile or a Malaysia don't magically go away with Bitcoin.

If anything, if the first world is basically living like Chile, then Chile slides down because there's no first world money looking to invest in these places.

I think I'm interchangeable, but I'm just a well assimilated Caribbean American. I suspect positive experiences with well assimilated immigrants makes the idea that we're relatively interchangeable easy to accept, especially if they're fellow UMC types with relatively internationalized shared left leaning viewpoints.

The HBDer in me suspects questions that given that the third world countries with resources lack enough of the smart fraction to do much of anything with those resources.

Bitcoin isn't going to turn Niger into a nuclear energy generating powerhouse.

But *why* would anybody want to have a wife and child if their living

standards are collapsing? If anything, you'd want to reduce your

liabilities by not getting married or having kids.

If you're selling the idea of buying a Range Rover because your country is too poor/cheap to pay for proper roads, then you're not going to afford a Range Rover either.

You're going to need a basic Hilux truck and the Africa/Outback spec Land Cruisers. Range Rovers don't do well outside of first world countries.

That's all well and good that the arithmetic works out, but would the CSU form a government with the mean people *and* FW?

I thought Bayern Dude was a social welfare guy like your average SPD voter, not an actual, you know, real deal Communist.

*liberalism*

Wait, since *when*?

"Germany is broken, let's follow the Austrian guy who literally ruined the country."

>Not a single one. I don't know any of them.

This is very

much skewed toward young people. For younger people, YouTube isn't that

different from other social media apps, and it's arguably long form

Snapchat or Tiktok.

I watch a decent bit of Flight Attendant and Railfan YouTube.

It feels like the solution because it's the attempt to avoid "noticing" patterns and other, um, bad stats with certain groups. It's feels reassuring for those of us who aren't quite stereotypical in the hopes that people will see us as individuals versus "that weird black guy".

I've noted that revealing my mom's home town makes me persona non grata with other fellow co-ethnics. So I've learned to say somewhere else less offensive, but close enough.

I mean, we're better, but they didn't have to be *mean* about it.

Also, then there's fun games about skin tone. As I've jokingly noted, you're the dream candidate for some Haitian families.

IOW, they're not paying their bills, and hence why credit card debt is increasing, and people are burning their savings.
