**The Seed Was Planted in 2009**

Fifteen years ago—on 23 October 2010—Satoshi Nakamoto dropped a quiet bombshell on the BitcoinTalk forum. Someone had suggested bundling short messages inside Bitcoin transactions. Satoshi’s reply was instant and surgical:
