dns is only used to prove an npub is someone, if we have local records of that then that would help and there is other ways, nostr preserves its distributed nature by using the npub and not the nip5 in notes etc
otherwise i would like something not dns based too
if we keep the dht simple npub, 1 relay, signature, and maybe we can remove the sig
among other things
i think a dht is better because i am not a fan of dns
idea is we also store it on the domain or use a dht
i would suggest a lightning address but you might block yourself
if only a social network had intergrated bitcoin? like you could tip people with a button or something
point is you likely could try a few other random relays and they would have the info to find alexs new relay, you are less likely to try randoms and find alex again without it, a dht helps with scaling too its not just for this
another solution is you store your relays on a file at your domain for nip5, relays could delete your kind0 linking to the domain tho
