Nostr Log Day 10:
I find myself swept up into the whirlwind that is nostr and #plebchain. Every day an onslaught of shitposts. Sincere takes. Generous interaction. Feet posts.
These "plebs" circulate economies of satoshis and good humor. Curating a positive space to have fun in while the foundational integrity of the systems around them collapse under the weight of extortion and bribery.
It's almost as if the world isn't perpetually aflame around here.
Unsure if my over indulgence in lingual gymnastics will detract or benefit the underlying thoughts I present. A meandering mind. Taking pieces from different puzzles trying to form something of coherence. Making connections that may not be there.
Fearful the followers I have will assume I am using such influences of artificial intelligence to create such whimsy and nonsensical abominations of written word. I can only assure them I am not. Hoping they will see the lack of actual substance... of education... is apparent.
Mixing sincerity with satire proving a duality difficult to balance. Simultaneously concealed behind a mask of false intellectualism with a palpable awareness of such, and humorous self promotion. The feedback I receive seems positive, but I worry I grow tiresome on those who find who may find this nothing but unproductive jabberwocky.
Not fully certain what led me to pursue this endeavor.. To fill a void with something different? Perhaps putting a daily deadline on myself to churn out something of creativity to the world other than simply the piece parts I manufacture during my fiat employ.
Attempting to add layers of complexity to my understandings of the Bitcoin protocol and how I can participate more fully and contribute. Re-syncing a Bitcoin Core node due to issues I ran into previous. Out of my league,but in good company of those far more advanced than I.
A reminder to go at my own pace. Push just out of the bounds of comfortability, grasping for understandings of new concepts foreign.
For once the urge to stack sats has waned slightly. I find myself willingly parting with them here. No sense of loss. Buying gift cards is one thing. Zapping other adventurers in this realm is entirely different.
The Lightning Network gradually building. Liquidity growing. Failed payments generally becoming a thing of the past. Understanding how all this channel opening, inbound and outbound capacities, routing, may very well be too much for many, myself included. I will however continue to indulge the challenges.
As much as I find toxic Bitcoin maximalism potentially necessary, I cannot allow myself to become something of the sort. Err on the side of compassion and gentle guidance on why it is different to the degeneracy of the "crypto" space.
Wondering, how long we will need to keep pushing this idea of self custody? Potentially the initial concept that made so much sense to me at the time, that it engaged my whole dive down this path.
Another day observing, learning, and playing here. Powerful senses of camaraderie.
