Almost 3 years since I started stacking and I still learn so much.
The Austrian school and the libertarian philosophy are making me look at things much, much differently.
In my current interpretation, it is a body of thought that takes an optimistic view of human beings and an acknowledgement of the corruptive nature of power being concentrated at the hands of those who have no incentives to use it wisely.
The world will never be the same to me. This is so radical.
'The story of Keynesian economics starts with his work on India. Between 1909 and 1913, he was the most important defender of British monetary imperialism in India. For this work he was awarded a position at the British Treasury during the First World War. Thus, it was his faithful defense of the British Empire that allowed Keynes to become the century’s most influential economist after the war.'

Reminds me of this one 😂
I wasn't happy with the experience on Mutiny either. It would've been nice if I'd known the amount that was going to be allocated to reserves before I opened a channel.
While I was closing my channels, I had a very small amount of 30k sats and I had to spend half of it to get channels closed and move to another wallet.
I know he's doing closed Q&A sessions nowadays. Did he ever get around to discovering Nostr?
F. A. Hayek, [The Fatal Conceit: The Errors of Socialism](https://amzn.to/433vquq)
F. A. Hayek, [The Road to Serfdom](https://amzn.to/49VAy6a)
Henry Hazlitt, [Economics in One Lesson](https://amzn.to/43k223v)
Ludwig von Mises, [Liberalism: The Classical Tradition](https://amzn.to/3v0LAIv)
Adding these to my reading list. The following are the ones I have in my list currently:
'Individualism and Economic order' by Hayek
'For a New Liberty' by Murray Rothbard
'Bureaucracy' by Mises
'Socialism' by Mises
'Origins of Money' by Menger
Thoughts about these?
A talk that sums up the libertarian (classical liberal and neoliberal) experience in India and the perpetual disappointment and tradeoffs that one has to deal with as a part of it.
Bitcoin fixes this.
They'd have integrated LN and substituted their BAT shitcoin with sats if they were being actually serious about disrupting the browser ecosystem.
Dejargonizing nostr for newbies and non-technical people
(Attempt No. 1)
Npub: Your identity on Nostr. This is like your username. You find people by asking for their npubs. If you want their content to show up on your feed, you need to follow them.
Nsec: The password you use to sign in and access your account. Never share this with anyone. To create a new account, all you need to do it generate a new nsec and you're in.
Relay: A place where your content is stored and accessed by other people. On traditional social media, these would be called servers. Servers and Relays are pretty much the same thing in terms of the purpose they serve. If you want to use a relay, you'll have to add them on your profile section. Make sure you go to the profiles of people you follow and add the relays they've added as well. This way, there is no single point of failure for you and your friend's interaction and content.
Client: Software that allows you to interact with these relays. Clients can be websites, PWA's or mobile apps. You need to login to these clients in order to access your Nostr account. You can do it by simply entering your nsec in the login page.
Event: It is an interaction with all the relays you have added in your profile. (If a client doesn't let you add or remove your own relays, avoid using it.)
Event kind: It describes the type of interaction you have with the network. Each event kind will be identified by a particular number.
You can see all the event kinds here: https://nostrdata.github.io/kinds/
Note: A Nostr event of kind '1' that specifies simple text posts.
This is my first attempt, I'll keep quoting this as I make each description better.
Do feel free to criticise as much as you can and suggest additions and improvements. I will quote this with those edits and additions.
Pretty much captures how I feel right now after facing my first bear market. Was a worse experience than I thought it would be
It's an opportunity for content creators to be the first ones covering their interest of choice on a totally new network. 💯
I think they'll have to overcome the fear of being a 'loner' who shouts into the void, which will be the case for a while.
Not a single person I know in real life is here and it's just me posting into the void. Just recently started interacting more with people. Liking it so far!
I agree, and at a rapid pace too
Nostr feels much bigger than just another social media alternative to me
