A subset of people who really need Nostr are finally starting to use Nostr: human rights activists.
It's likely that they will stop being active after a while, but if they get deplatformed from traditional social media, Nostr will be here for them to fall back on. 
Ranking based on zaps is one of those things I wish could exist but sadly isn't possible right now.

Yep. I added that relay and I could see all the posts.
I don't think it's a failure that we need to add that relay to load everything.
If a person I know doesn't want his notes to be on all public relays but his own, I'd be okay with adding his to my list.
The second part is what most people aren't okay with. They had to be reined in and people have done exactly that by forcing them to be in a coalition to remain in power. They are however far better than the side that sits in the opposition.
The current side that sits on the opposition will wreck the country to another level because they're very socialist in their political leanings.
