Over the last few years I've been assisting to deliver cultural immersions throughout the Northern Territory and South Australia, taking high school students to remote indigenous homelands to experience what it's like out on country, spend time with traditional owners and ask all the questions they might have been to afraid to ask.

There's been plenty of special moments on those trips, this one taken in the East Daly river region.

24” x 30” Mixed Media Canvas Update: rocks and trees

Looked more closely at my reference photo, and vintage Chinese paintings, and added some rock faces to the mountains.

Added a lot of trees. Then changed the color on the trees.

And made the sky a bit more blue.

I “think” I should work on the trees more, but I “feel” I should put in the clouds … therefore going to work on clouds next. 👍

I agree with you, the most discerning critic with my paintings is myself, and establishing a price was very difficult.

I did a lot of research of established painters visually similar to my work and initially reduced my value to one-fifth of theirs, narrowing the gap a bit each year.

It’s funny how you need to put a value on your work for it to be valued by others 🖼️
