On Start9 all you have to do to switch from #BitcoinCore to #Knots is install Knots from the community registry. You won’t need to resync the entire blockchain if you run an archival node.
***When I switched I did have to enable “dev mode”. StartOS sees both apps as the same so it won’t let you install Knots if the version number is the same as Core. ***

Solo Mining #Bitcoin to my own node. I’m now motivated to add solar to my house. I’m surprised at how easy this was. After watching some videos from nostr:nprofile1qqspnzgrfett3asxcuj0gksje6z2zxzpvgd27uvz58m9vsuqh8zzw6cpr9mhxw309a382emdv9hzumt8w4ujumn9wsargwp58qq3jamnwvaz7tmswfjk66t4d5h8qunfd4skctnwv46z7znnzje There were a few things that were a little different from the videos but with a little searching I found solutions. I’ve spent an hour or 2 each evening setting it up over the last 4 days. The setup was about $1000 for everything.
Running bitcoin
It took a few hours to get Start9 on the mini pc and confirmed with my router. Took right at 18 hours to sync the full block chain.
I opened a Coinbase account in 2018 but didn’t use it for anything. Over the years I’ve logged in occasionally and completed the learning rewards and immediately converted the shitcoins to #bitcoin. It has stacked up quite nicely. Today I dipped into that free money to order a server to host a bitcoin and #lightning #node and probably a nostr #relay. I’ll be using #Start9. Once it’s set up I’ll add some #bitaxe miners.
