Seems like an interesting take, I think the orientation towards payed subscriptions is ultimately better than the other models. Ad driven media has been pretty disastrous for everyone. On the other hand, it’s still a centralized platform that is subject to the whims of Visa and Mastercard.
Depends, I don’t think most people are doing things they wouldn’t want associated with their name very often. However, when you look at instances where they are it gets way more common. Face paint and masks are common at event like burning man for example. It’s very common to go to political rallies with your face obscured, people might even help you cover your face depending on the event.
I’d rather have the one that’s usable as a currency.
And yet they wonder why some people call it a Ponzi scheme.
You’re either lying or dumb. If crypto is a subset of fiat then Bitcoin has the same problem. They are fundamentally the same class of technology with the same problems. The only difference is that Bitcoin is the oldest one.
But the community rejects most of the methods that would be used to make that efficiency gain.
Crypto is a superset that includes Bitcoin. You guys just don’t like being associated with alternative implementations.
Oh yeah, and cash is very private in comparison to either Bitcoin or cards/checks. Your payments in the current system aren’t necessarily required to be through banks but everyone can see every transaction you’ve made on the blockchain. Bitcoiners should be more aggressive about solving this problem.
Any privacy is better than literally zero privacy my man. You’re trying to provide a superior option, no? Then quit making excuses.
Does the Bitcoin dev community have any plans to add privacy features? Most people don’t like the idea of their financial information being freely available to literally anyone and easily so to anyone they’ve transacted with.
It uses what is basically distrobox to get packages from multiple distros.
He did talk about it in a weird way in the short section I listened to. But it wasn’t enough for me to think he was for censorship per se, maybe like tools to avoid things you don’t like is more accurate.
