There are apparently some newer higher quality codecs out there but I assume our trashy personal items don't work without dongles and such.

What about the storied Happy Hacking Keyboard? Have you ever tried that one? I've heard positive reviews about that however it is pretty pricey.

Getting your license is like taking a driver's education course. You have to learn the rules, and you also learn a ton about electronics, RF, basic physics and more. I understand not wanting to get a license but I think you'll be missing out on so much. If you're in the US, buy a copy of the lay flat spiral bound ARRL technician manual and you will learn a ton. Also, ham radio is basically a cult, so if you want to connect with local people (which I recognize you may not), there will be a line of excited to help people (known as Elmers) trying to get you across the licensing finish line. Give it a try!

And now compiling openssl-3.4 for the goodies

Thanks I've seen that referenced but I've not investigated, I assumed erroneously that every he was doing was iOS based. I'll check it out.

Who amongst you fine brave nerds is testing or checking out ML-KEM encryption? Or is anyone signing with the other post quantum cryptography? (FIPS 203-206)

Thanks! I'm excited to try Lume to get the flavor.

Agreed. Also, the larger publicly traded corporations must "create value for their shareholders" aka constantly squeeze internally to lower costs in order to increase their shareholders value by 0.000000001 of a cent. Particularly when there are no more customers to locate.

...So effective immediately lunch breaks will be 29 minutes moving forward, not 30 minutes, and we're going to need you to come in Saturday, m'kay? And the shareholders thank you for your efforts.

One merely has to follow the traditional rule of 'spend less than a third of your income on housing costs' (aka 70% like it's 2024) and then there will be plenty of house parties.

Yes, you can download latest version for linux here: https://github.com/lumehq/coop/releases/tag/v0.1.7

but it maybe not run well on your platform, because it depend on gtk3 and webview.

Awesome thank you, keep it up good luck with the refactor!

Elderly residents scream " my scanner doesn't work anymore!!!! " But yeah as public safety switches over from analog radio to digital modulation schemes (and then encrypts ) the many small communities (and large cities) are finding their residents are upset because their radio scanners no longer work. I read an article recently about a recent switch that NYPD did to encrypted coms and people were extremely upset.
