I used to lowkey be kind of an alcoholic.

I didn’t drink everyday, but when I did drink (usually once a week) I would binge drink (12-20 drinks).

The thing that got me to stop was realizing that drinking was effecting my brain and emotional health during the periods where I wasn’t drinking.

I went completely sober for about a year and went through a period of depression and anxiety for several months as my brain reset.

I kept getting these waves of repressed emotion. Things I had been burying for 20 years and I’d find myself like randomly crying in the milk aisle at the grocery store lmao 😂

It was only then that I realized why I had been drinking so hard in the first place.

It was me coping with difficult and painful emotions and experiences from childhood.

When I realized that I thought to myself “how fucking weak and pathetic” it was.

I told myself be tough and look your problems in the face.

So I did.

And life got better.

I appreciate medical doctors and other healthcare providers, but I hate the fact that many are incentivized (ie, subsidized) by the Federal Government to give advice that is often adverse to human health.

I appreciate farmers, but I hate the fact that many are incentivized (ie, subsidized) by the Federal Government to grow copious amounts of corn and soybeans, which are used to generally undermine human health.

I appreciate soldiers and military veterans, but I hate the fact that many are incentivized (ie, subsidized) by the Federal Government to use lethal force to support unethical missions and kill innocent people... often leading to PTSD and other long-term psychological issues.

I appreciate educators, but I hate the fact that many are incentivized (ie, subsidized) by the Federal Government to reward strict compliance, memorization, and group-think rather than autonomous thought, creativity, and integrity.

I appreciate commerce and the necessity of a widely accepted medium of exchange, but I hate the fact that many are incentivized (ie, subsidized) by the Federal Government to steal purchasing power from (forced) users of the fiat currencies--thereby worsening income inequality--rather than allowing to people to survive and thrive through their own proof of work.

I could go on.

Do you see that everything the Federal Government touches, it corrupts over time?

As a content creator, one of my biggest fears with investing time in Nostr is "reach", but after only a few days of posting since my podcast launched, the audience data is so insightful

To summarise: Nostr has more 4x unique views than the legacy platforms combined...

HOLY SHIT

So not only do I know I cannot be switched off (eg recent US TikTok users), I can see a future in which people actually find content valuable, and therefore invest their time in consuming it

Nostr is the play

Nostr is the sound capital allocation

Nostr is cornerstone of all future media

Why wouldn't you build with steel instead of wood? Why wouldn't you invest in something you know has superior property rights? Why wouldn't you continue to investigate the nascent technology?

All steam ahead
