Watched The Report (2019) and Kill the Messenger (2014) on the weekend. Both movies are based on real events portraying how the CIA does business.

The Report is about the findings of the senate's intelligence committee led by Daniel Jones after his year-long investigation into the CIA's EIT program was widely ignored by the public with "I didn't have sex with that woman" taking the headlines.

Kill the Messenger is the story of journalist Gary Webb who's investigations suggested that the CIA was supporting and backing the import of cocaine to the US to support the contras in central America with weapons in return. Webb claimed that the events at that time played a major role in flooding the streets of south LA (and later other parts of the US) with cocaine and ultimately with crack.

Including the misleading of two presidents, the proven ineffectiveness of those methods and the death's caused by applying those techniques including on US soil.
