Idk, a human being

It generally doesn't and pops

We're overdue for a correction

The number of people thinking real estate investing is a great idea always baffled me, because it doesn't follow economic sense. All it did was make homes overpriced because so many people thought real estate would make them rich.

It'll drop. The big corps will buy it up. I don't know who else could afford it after that though. It might not drop far after the big guys buy it, since then they won't sell and will just charge rent forever. This is assuming a regional monopoly. I don't know the distribution pattern for real estate though

Aboriginals make up more of the oil and gas sector by proportion, which liberals are trying to decimate on one hand and then give handouts to the aboriginals with the other

The Canadian economy is contracting. You can't print money for everyone. We need the oil and gas sector. Similarly we export beef, and that is also in the works to be gutted because meat=carbon therefore bad. The economy can't take all this freeloading. Nor do the aboriginals want this. Having disposable income (and oil and gas makes high wages) provides a better standard of living than hoping the federal government will hand you another paycheque out of their good graces, especially because they're funneling billions to Ukraine while cutting billions from our own military...

I don't even know what's going on here, man. We've entirely lost the plot as a country. There's no way to stop it it seems. Dark times ahead.

My ISP in Canada shows my IP as being American half the time

I actually don't know if stuff is blocked or not though because I'm not on any of the platforms that blocked 😝

Frankly, nothing was lost. It's worse if people were misinformed; they thought they knew what was going on but they were being fed false information. Now they'll have to ask someone else and that someone else is going to be more likely to be knowledgeable and less likely to be using the propaganda sources.

Registration always freaks me out for these reasons

They know who everyone is, you don't

Legit what just happened to me. They wanted to compel my speech. Yeah no thanks. Twitter is as corrupt as before, lots of people I subbed to wouldn't even show up in my feed, and from their end they were complaining their stuff was being hidden to an insane degree that it wasn't prior to the takeover.

Nothing lost. Hopefully the good content creators depart, because you can't even see posts on the platform now without logging in.

Just watched this episode on adoption in Cuba. Something that was brought up was the government shutting down the Internet and Bitcoin stops working. This drives home something I've been thinking about a lot. We need a future where our local circular economies (Bitcoin Beach, Bitcoin Jungle, etc) can continue to exist even if the internet is down for a week or two. While the ultimate solution might be some sort of satellite uplink, this could be where using a custodial provider local to the circular economy could have an advantage. Payments within users (for example within Bitcoin Jungle) could keep paying if we could come up with a WiFi distribution for example on markets. In the future this custodian could be a shared custodian using Fedimint, the importance being able to keep remitting on the node even without the rest of the internet.

Meshnets were an internet idea to avoid ISPs. You'd need to reflash your router with an open source router version and then you can mesh with neighbours in cities.

Helius network on Solana wanted to do a similar thing with cellphones, which everyone has

Satellite is a good backup. I think as always, decentralizing/not putting all your eggs in one basket is best.

Isn't incompatible with socialism. Stocks or things like a crypto coin are a form of communism, because it has a community shared value, and the more people contribute to it the better everyone in the community is. What differs is it's voluntary and not mandatory, at least from other forms of communism we actually call communism/socialism

But our CO2 is too low the plants are suffocating
