Updated my #Bitcoin books list on Nostree: https://nostree.me/tony/bitcoin-books

Now most of the books are available for direct download.

The reason behind this is that people in many corners of the world do not have access to Amazon or even credit cards to purchase the book from the official sources. Meanwhile everyone has access to Bitcoin and will be able to zap the authors for their hard work.

If you've downloaded one of these brilliant books and it turned out to be valuable for you, make sure to support the authors by zapping them on Nostr or sending some sats to their bitcoin address you'll be able to find on their donations page.

I've created a separate list of respected Bitcoin authors with links to their Nostr accounts here: https://nostree.me/tony/bitcoin-authors

If you find any of the lists to be incomplete, feel free to DM me or fork the list and expand it.

Just letting you know that 'The Bullish Case For Bitcoin' by Vijay Boyapati would be a nice addition to this list!

Streaming is the new cable TV. Feels like years ago since I've seen refreshing content. YT is just a advertising platform now. I use it for shirt videos and just refuse to extend this time with +150% unskipable ads. Netflix seems to be milking the same series. I rarely actually want to see something and if I do it's in some weird streaming service. This fracturing of the services and the ridiculous addition of advertising is making me move towards piracy more, like it was back in the days when it felt just pointless to watch a movie with +60 minutes of added commercials added on the cable.

Couldn't understand why people would wanted to see 5 blocks of the same commercials interrupting their movie, can't understand how people keep subscribing to all the services or don't mind watching some 20 second unskipable ad on a 5 minute how-to.

On BitBoy and Moral Degeneracy

---------------------------------

BitBoy was arrested after his Lamborghini was stolen, an event he even live-streamed while confronting the thief. Ironically, a person who has been accused of defrauding others was indignant when he himself became a theft victim. But this is not just an isolated event; it shines a spotlight on a wider issue of ethical decline.

Individuals who willingly defraud others lose all sense of justice when they themselves are wronged. This mindset echoes socialist ideologies that champion the idea of seizing propertyโ€”unless, of course, it's their property that's in jeopardy.

Double standards have become the norm, especially in politics. Some people, whether due to their minority status or alignment with popular political stances, are given a pass for unethical conduct. Meanwhile, others face public scorn for lesser offenses. This normalization of double standards paves the way for bad behavior, as exemplified by BitBoy.

But let's be clear: BitBoy is far from being the worst offender; he's simply the most visible one. This cycle of deceit, fraud, and theft will persist until we start stigmatizing moral decay. And that will only happen when our leaders stop getting away with their own moral lapses, which unfortunately are way too frequent under fiat money. They can and do abuse their position for personal gain, stealing from everyone else in the process. As long as the temptation of stealing from everyone else is there, and easily obscured by talk of "greedy corporations" and "perfect storm" of "unexpected circumstances" we're going to just see this moral degeneracy continue.

The way to stop this is not reform, but a different financial system that doesn't have so many holes. Bitcoin, as you might expect, is that system.

Fiat delenda est.

I'm not sure it's a decline in anything. These people always excited and always will. We just life in a world where they got the tools to reach millions of new-comers who need to get hurt before they will understand.

With events like this it's always this Satoshi quote which pops up in my mind:

โ€œIf you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.โ€

Maybe I'm part of the problems because I just feel like giving up. Maybe I'm part of the solution for this ignoring persons like Bitboy and hope others will follow. They feed on attention and we keep giving them food.

Yeah I think you do it by default? Not sure tho, you actually create a new note (?) so you just broadcast the new one? If so, you should also broadcast the boosted note.

Broadcasting is very nice for archiving, use it alot. Love that Nostros (Android) got a 'push all' feature so once in a while I boot up my personal relay and just push my history to it.

Someone is selling his house in Sweden, accepting Bitcoin ๐Ÿ‘€

Sure you can zap, boost or quote.

But did you know you also can help spread the note to a bigger audience? Just broadcast a note you like with your relays. This way even more users can see the note!

Amazon finally admitted it got 'lostt in transit' and is sending a new one. Way later then I hoped but it might be that tomorrow I will be reading nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a new book!

Today was a good day. Had friends ask me about their hardware wallet and software. What if the software doesn't work?

Today they learned:

- How to make a Tails USB drive and verify the downloaded image

- How to boot their device into the USB

- Verify and download Electrum Appimage

- Add udev rules

- Connect their device and control their coins using Electrum

They now have a ready to go USB next to their hardware wallet in case they need it.

๐Ÿค™

- Add some good relays, but keep it to 10 max.

- Find some people you want to follow

- Follow them and check their follow list for more people

- Subscribe to hashtags like #bookstr, #foodstr, #bikestr etc for things that interest you

- Chec out other apps! Nostr is not a social network, Nostr is a protocol with a lot of utilities, this is just one of many.
