It’s entirely possible to supplement the heat in a beehive, and the Bitaxe would be perfect for the job, but it has to be a delicate balance. The challenge with supplemental heating is that it also impacts humidity, which can just as easily doom a hive in winter. The key is subtle supplementation. I know beekeepers in extremely cold climates who have done everything from surrounding hives with hay bales for insulation to housing them in massive barns. We currently have a supplemental heating project in development using our Bittyaxe design and solar, with plans to upgrade to the Hashdisk for the final build.

Winter is coming! As we prepare for this year’s Bitcoin mining heat capture strategy, we’ve been revisiting footage from this past winter.

I’m noticing the same patterns emerging as on Twitter, where opinion-driven voices and the “Bitcoin feelings” crowd push their preferred narratives. It’s often the same cycle of “listen to my opinions, now buy into this.” Those with the most reach remain front and center of the power dynamics, even though many don’t truly understand Bitcoin at the protocol level. They write books with ChatGPT, run Bitcoin organizations, and use all the right buzzwords, pushing agendas they’re paid to promote. Yet, when you speak with them directly, it’s clear they lack real technical understanding, more image than substance.
Nostr is turning out just like any other platform, influencers take precedence. Remember Bitcoin is Proof of Work, not proof opinion. Talk less , build something for Bitcoin.

Finalizing a few things for the hashdisk, keep an eye on our GitHub for the source files and free, open-source #Bitcoin mining case designs like this one. If you have a 3D printer, this case was engineered for an easy, clean print. The design features a fully enclosed chassis with four strategically placed fans:
• One dedicated to cooling and extending the PSU’s lifespan
• One mounted beneath the hashdisk for under-disk airflow
• One affixed atop the ASIC heatsink to push heat downward
• One on the chassis roof to extract heat upward
Multiple pass-through ports in the hashdisk ensure balanced circulation of cool air from bottom to top.
