Today's harvest: the beet bed. I grew Crapaudine (an old French heirloom variety) beets this year as an experiment. I did get about half a dozen good sized beets, with a bunch more smaller ones... plus lots of greens.

I really need to amend my soil.

One thing my sleep med doc did say is that I might have shifted into a biphasic sleep schedule--and that it's more common as you get older. So I might try to lean into that, set an actual biphasic sleep schedule, and see how I feel.

So there's that.

This is the first of Myrtle's siblings that we got an update on. This handsome boy is wild about doing army crawls, which is something Myrtle loves to do, too.

Make it make sense. Why would my package land back at the USPS Jacksonville Package Sorting Center three separate times? I fully expect it to now arrive at the same sorting center again in a day or two, since it just seems to be circling Florida.

Helluva job there, Louis DeJoy--making postage way way more expensive AND making mail service less reliable and more frustrating. Is it any wonder I drop my mail-in election ballot to the county election bureau in person?

nostr:npub1gwhrhqqmhkkjyend5u20eht3eh0ed67h3zkqena0krahen3mk7jq3l76qq I used my wireless keyboard for all about ten minutes before I realized. So happy to have my wired one back.

Technology has been failing me a bit lately. In addition to the tv debacle, I revised so hard over the last week-ish that my keyboard broke--and I accidentally ordered a wireless replacement, which lagged between my typing & the screen, not to mention the complete clusterfuck freeze when I was typing superfast. But today my wired replacement arrived, and everything is so much better. I can type as fast as I want to.

Shout-out to my HS business typing teacher, yo.

nostr:npub1f7qpjrh70uw8qf5p4enwe29jnk2mq0ck85v2umw6r2zgyj0tq0dsnvw93g I just forwarded this article and a few others to Craig in hopes that he'll take pity on me and change the setting for me. Hahahah!

Craig bought a new TV for the living room because we decided to hang it on a wall & wanted one that was very thin & light. I think he said it's a 4K. He's enthralled, but to me it looks like everything we watch is a daytime soap. I read that soaps look different because of the way they're lit & the way they film.

I haven't had time to watch a lot on the new TV, but it's very disconcerting.

Aw, shit! My husband's airline just added Doha as a destination out of our home airport...which means I'M GOING TO DOHA! I mean, you know, eventually, not today (as much as I would like to).

It's raining, and all I want to do is nap. Instead, I'm using serious freaking brain power to revise someone else's article for a project. Meh.

Today's indictment harvest--a veritable cornucopia, just as varied as the charges against Trump: 2 cukes, a handful of string beans, a few dried beans, a few jalapeños, 1 small tomato, 5 Hakurei turnips, 1 underdeveloped red beet (pulled as a test), and two yellow carrots (also tests).

I may pull more carrots-- some of the carrot bases are pretty thick, and these 5 inch carrots are just about the right size.
