On February 26, we had our Bitcoin Project at school, where we gave every participating student 5,500 sats.

It was an awesome day and an awesome project!

It's been nearly 11 weeks since then.

My observations so far:

Most girls sold their sats to the guys.

Some of the guys bought a lot of sats from me, in addition to acquiring them from other students.

Some kids from other age brackets (mostly boys) tried to learn as much as possible from the group with the Bitcoin project and set up their own wallets.

Now, I would say that roughly half of the kids still have their sats, while half have given up on Bitcoin.

Those who don't have them anymore panicked and sold during the dip.

Today, four kids came to my desk wanting to sell their stacks—the smallest was 15,000 sats! I was so confused!

They made it through the dip; they even tripled their sats. Now they want to sell?

I promised the kids at the beginning that I would always sell them sats and buy them back no matter the price or time. So I bought them back.

But man, that hurt my heart!

They were so close!

They survived their first dip!

Sacked sats.

Now, they've sold everything.

I think you really do need three touchpoints before you get Bitcoin.

Now the ultimate test of proof of work is upon me. To be a wonderful father to my little princess!

And I am carefully following any family related advice from nostr:npub1rtlqca8r6auyaw5n5h3l5422dm4sry5dzfee4696fqe8s6qgudks7djtfs.

Read about the welfare state and the silent German revolution!

There is no country that works less than Germany. Almost 30% of its population works in part-time jobs. Every 3rd of the workforce is not working full time anymore.

Of course, even the Germans want to keep the welfare state! But they just don't want to work for it anymore.

THE FAT KID PROBLEM:

A few weeks ago we had an unannounced health check at our school by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

It was the first one in years! I think the last one was more than 5 years ago.

They documented height, weight and other things.

We got the results three weeks ago.

The problem is that over 40% of the children are overweight.

No big surprise, but still a shitty result.

So the school board got together and presented the results to the parents and had an evening event.

The parents were upset!

That's basically bodyshaming!

That's playing with the mental health of the kids to call them fat!

The very next week, the school board decided to order a snack machine for our children at our school. There was a vote. These are the results of the teacher vote: 32 in favor, one abstained, two against. Me and a colleague.

The argument in favor of a vending machine: parents find it too difficult to prepare breakfast for their children in the morning.

This week on Wednesday the vending machine arrived and was installed.

There are only two sugar free times in this machine: Water and sparkling water. (65 and 66 in the photo)

Since Wednesday, the kids are late for class and have to use the bathroom exponentially (to get to the vending machine during class).

That's our solution to the obesity problem?

Sugary items and not telling the kids that they might have a problem based on their diet and behavior?

Fuck this fiat system!

I still tell my kids to exercise every day, eat healthy, and do something about their extra weight!

Proof of work is what I teach them every day and will continue to do so!

Fight the fiat monster wherever you can!

Unbelievable. I'm afraid of the future when I have to deal with these situations. Deal with the ignorance of other parents, because they don't care enough.
