I'm starting to think that Juvals theories and extrapolations are not scientific speculations but rather the creation of a fictional context that makes him and his kind into some form of benevolent elite under some new technological paradigm and sets them apart from the tyrants and their goons from the past.
But unfortunately he is mistaken. Behind the facade of astro turfing, algorithms, nudging and psyop manipulation there is the plain old "man with a stick" waiting for you if you don't play along.
No matter how sophisticated and well spun the narrative that Juval is telling us is, the stick is the same as it was millennia ago....
