informative podcast episode about metabolism - https://gastropod.com/everything-you-know-about-metabolism-is-wrong/ - I'm listening to it again because it was dense.
Angela, Could eye strain be a factor in your migraine? Do you have more glare in your computing environment than previously? Also how are your workstation ergonomics at home as well as the office? Solving migraines and headaches has Nobel Prize in Medicine potential!

Hi Chris and Ange, air quality monitoring with home assistant could be a topic for a future LUP or launch. I have 3 different monitors currently. #1 DIY air gradient based on ESP https://www.airgradient.com/documentation/diy/ #2 Airthings View Plus - HA integration is cloud based :( https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/airthings/ #3 Air-Q pro https://shop.air-q.com/air-Q-pro-air-analyser-13-sensors expensive but so far my favorite and I've only had it for a few days. Local Polling integration type. https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/airq/ Do either of you monitor your indoor air quality?

If I think from a gift perspective and back track to a theme. I mainly receive microcenter gift cards so my theme is DIY computers and electronics?

Hey Chris, What is more bleeding edge than nixos-unstable? The nixpkgs 'master' branch. I'm using overlays to access it, not yoloing my whole OS. I just added it so I could get the latest nexusmod-app :)

From FOSSY in Portland OR: AI generated reports of non-existent bugs are clogging up bug bounty programs. The talk on this "plausible AI slop" starts at 6:43:00. Really good layout of the problem. If you haven't already, check out Jenny Parks, Star Trek Cat books from your local digital library. They're very short and very funny. https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Trek_Cats

This ZigBee dongle contains same SoC as HAyellow: https://sonoff.tech/en-us/products/sonoff-zigbee-3-0-usb-dongle-plus-zbdongle-e
For migration I would make sure the firmware versions match (firmware can be flashed). I bought this dongle a year ago but only just plugged it into my pi4 HA. I've seen some chatter about bad knockoffs so buy from a reputable source.

The ksmbd CVE-2025-37899 mentioned in the live feed is also an AI story. Sean was benchmarking OpenAI o3 ability to find a vulnerability that they already knew about when it found 37899. Also note the false positive rate is very high, they indicate a signal to noise ratio ~1:50. https://sean.heelan.io/2025/05/22/how-i-used-o3-to-find-cve-2025-37899-a-remote-zeroday-vulnerability-in-the-linux-kernels-smb-implementation/

Asking us to share our pain about getting thieved made me think of Sybok in Star Trek 5. "Share your pain. Share your pain with me – and gain strength from the sharing."

The van name should look good on a t-shirt. Like DISCO or COSMIC. I came up with VAMOOSE or VAMOOS looks slightly better. I'm imagining t-shirt art with the van also being a moose like the cat bus in My Neighbor Totoro.

If I can't use NixOS or a derivative, I would use a variety of distros based on the system type and purpose. Bazzite for gaming desktops, Pop!_OS for laptops. I don't want to think about not using NixOS on my servers.
