Why do fees suddenly spike to like 300 sat/vB for these ordinals things then drop back down right away?

Like specifically why, not just "because degen" - are paying high fees part of the protocol, is it a sudden rush of trading?

Why does the next block become so valuable when they could just wait?

☺️ There’s a little coffee shop where two people walk up to the counter.

“Five coffees, please. Two for us, and three hanging.”

They pay, take their two coffees, and leave.

Curious, I ask the barista, “What’s a hanging coffee?”

“Just wait, and you’ll see,” they respond with a smile.

A little while later, two girls come in. They each order a coffee, pay, and go on their way. Then, three women order seven coffees: three for themselves and four hanging.

My curiosity deepens. What’s with all these “hanging” coffees?

Then, a man in worn clothes, who looks like he’s fallen on hard times, approaches the counter and asks, “Do you have a hanging coffee?”

“Yes, we do, sir,” the barista replies, handing him a hot cup of coffee.

I finally understood. People are paying in advance for coffees that will be served to anyone who can’t afford one.

This heartwarming tradition began in Naples, but it’s now spreading to cities and towns across the world. In some places, it’s not just hanging coffees—you can leave sandwiches or even a full meal for someone in need.

Imagine if we all embraced this simple act of kindness in our own communities. A small gesture like this could make a world of difference to someone’s day, or even their life.

Is there a way I can tweak an EXISTING secp256k1 signature with a user's pubkey so that only that user's private key can verify the event without allowing that user to find out the event's real signature?

Meaning, can I give an event to a user without allowing that user to reshare a verifiable version of the event without also exposing their main private key?

Hey there 👋 I'm Donna, a newbie to Nostr.

I'm super curious about Nostr because since 2005 I've been teaching women worldwide about Manifesting + Money + Magic.

So I'm an educator/ teacher/ coach/ guide and a content creator with the pain of having to do the "Algorithm Monkey Dance" on Social Media to reach my students and followers.

Which in 2018, I basically stopped doing because it was exhausting and felt inauthentic. And I focused 99% of my energy on my email database because "I own those connections".

Although many of the communities connected to my online programs still run on Facebook.

And so the "Nostr use case" made quick and easy sense to me. And the added incentive of Sats through Zaps... yipppeeee!

Except, of course... my students, followers and audience are not on Nostr yet.

Ah... the Catch 22... the Chicken and Egg of Nostr.

So here I am, ready to contribute anyway and put my content up here anyway... because this feels like the right place to be building. (And because I lurve being a pioneer)...

And I'll probably need help... so would love your feedback and help please.
