Farewell Fiesta. It has been well publicised that production of Ford's European supermini ended on Friday, after 47 years and seven generations.

I'll always love the original Mk1, super crisp lines and to my eyes the pinnacle of Fast Ford styling - the SuperSport and XR2 will always be sharpest looking Ford hot hatches.

Drawing this image brought back lots of memories of times I've been in or around Fiestas, the car world is poorer for not having them in it any more.

I was fortunate enough to be able to have a good look around one a few years back, fascinating things

I spent my weekend at Santa Pod Raceway (Britain's main drag racing strip) crewing with my mates in a team that races a Golf R, I'm on the committee for the Volkswagen Drag Racing Club so it's a big part of my life! Great weekend, it never gets boring even after 20 years of involvement.

Always good to see some of our aircooled club members jousting on the strip, this is Steve in his Baja vs Caitlin in her B289 retro Beetle, both were built in the 1990s and still going strong!
