Husband ~ Father ~ Loki Energy ~ This will be fun: Follow me down the rabbit hole!

Good afternoon everyone! Here's some more pictures from last night:

I'm glad I have Mondays off: for the rest of you a song:

Go get after it!

It's supposed to be cloudy and rainy all day here, my plan is to nap, read, do laundry, and meal plan for the week. I hope you all find the motivation to achieve all your goals, nobody else can do the work, but you and I both know that you have everything you need already: go do the work!

Sunday night is my Friday. I'm staying up late, listening to music, reading, researching, zapping on #nostr, and sharing posts... I'm going to say hi to all the Monday morning people, send my kids off to school, and then crash out and sleep for a few hours until I wake up and start the cycle of adulthood over again.

“We have calcium in our bones,

iron in our veins,

carbon in our souls,

and nitrogen in our brains.

93 percent stardust,

with souls made of flames,

we are all just stars that have people names.”

Despite my name, I don't pretend that understand or adhere to the idea of karma. I think it's a nice idea, but I like to think that the good I do, I do just because it makes the world better, not because I'll be entitled to some future benefit: making things better is the reward.

On the other hand, it's a nice story we can tell ourselves. The good guys will win in the end and the bad guys will get what's coming to them. I suspect it isn't that simple, but I also think that in the end, Good will be victorious over Evil.

If that hope is a false hope, then in the end it won't matter anyway but it's the best way to live, from my tiny insignificant perspective.

It's not as common as I'd like. I've been alive for 4 decades but I've only caught a few instances over that span: maybe a few times a year max? I'd love to go to Norway or Alaska some day and really get the full experience.

This rendition always touches me. Don't ever forget what a miracle it is to live here on this planet and how precious life is.

Good advice, however, there are rabbit holes I must first explore!

I'm back with a musical recommendation. Want a fantastic channel to work, cook, write, code, read, conversate, or just relax while playing this in the background? This is also a great thing to play while you drift off to sleep, give it a try! Let me know what you think. give me your own suggestions or thoughts or memories.

This Layer Zero guy haunts and spams me constantly so I blocked him, I don't know what his deal is. Yuck!

Alright, I'm just going to create an entirely new post just to avoid last night's data loss. First things first, special thanks to @digikomori @Emanuel @PaulTaylor @stoodder and @utxo for their zaps. Thanks to the rest of you for your thoughts, kind comments, likes, etc.

I've only just discovered #nostr and my account is still in the newborn stage: I didn't expect this kind of reaction from complete strangers, it makes me realize that not everyone is just out trying to min-max their interactions. I don't have the knowledge, skills, or emotional capital this week to track exactly who did what donation. There is still much for me to learn about the technical capabilities and details of Nostr.

This week I'm going to talk to my HR department and staff nurse to see if we can set up some sort of employee support group, and create a better list of resources that our first responder group has access to. What can we offer more than words?

Personally and more specifically I'm going to see if my company will be willing to fund some more external programs to help employees get better access to the natural world. I live very close to a public kyack launch and I have a shed. I'm going to offer free storage and active training to coworkers interested in guiding others into discovering the joy and feelings of natural interconnectedness that comes when you get away from normal life and out into the "wild".

Long term I'm going to start exploring potentially establishing a non-profit organization that will give people access to equipment and knowledge that normally isn't readily available to people who live paycheck to paycheck. I think I expressed this all so much better in my "lost post", but I won't let that keep me down: Minor setbacks will not deter me.

Ok. I'm looking for advice on everything. General thoughts, encouragement, and answers to some more specific questions:

I'm located in Wisconsin, any existing programs and resources you're aware of that I should know about?

Pitfalls and traps I need to avoid or be conscious of.

Non-profits.. should I try to start one... how do you even go about it... other alternatives?

Legal advice.

The Unknown Unknown: Things I don't even know about that I should be worried about - What am I completely ignorant and unaware of?

Encouragement and cheerleading would be welcome, I really want to figure this out and try to make a difference. I can be sad and depressed about things or I can try to make it better. "Do or do not, there is no try"

My initial post did not flag you correctly, I don't know why. Thanks again!

I just found this artist tonight, this hits hard.

I'm a first responder at my workplace: Tonight was emotionally taxing.

There was a co-worker who had a maximum-strength panic attack: so bad I thought he was having a heart attack at first. I and some other first responders sat and talked to him for a long long time. The dude was going through some real shit, but I think we helped him a little bit.

It feels like there are more and more mental health issues coming to a head this year. Maybe it's partially related to the post covid fallout, maybe it's just the cracks starting to show in our sick society. I don't know all the root causes; I just live here.

I have access to a lot of numbers and resources, but I thought it would be nice to hear if any Nostrians have stories, suggestions, or resources they'd like to point to the community at large.

I'm going to go try to do something relaxing to unwind before I sleep, thanks in advance to anyone who participates. I will send some zaps out tomorrow to all the helpful, brave, and thoughtful responses.

Remember to be kind; Thanks!

She would have only been 26 when the husband died, she probably remarried and then got buried with the 2nd husband is my guess.

Here's one for the road:

Yeah, the procrastinators have a good strategy: they know that those of us who are most annoyed by it will probably do it for them.
