The Latest Bitcoin & Macro news: Weekly Recap 17.03.2025
🧠Quote(s) of the week:
“National debt is immoral and destructive, silently undermining the basis of the state; it delivers the present generation to the execration of posterity.” - Napoleon
🧡Bitcoin news🧡
I was a bit under the weather the last couple of days so it took me a longer to write the Weekly Recap, anyway...here we go:
On the 11th of March:
➡️European Union claims President Trump's support for crypto could harm Europe's "monetary sovereignty and financial stability." The EU could be educating European people on Bitcoin, they could adapt sound money early, join the Bitcoin race early, and make the lives of all Europeans better. Instead, they choose to lie and make all Europeans miss the boat. I have no words for this. Freaking dinosaurs!
President Trump's support for Bitcoin threatens their "monetary sovereignty and financial stability" -> translation: people might choose freedom over their broken monetary system.
Remember Christine Lagarde’s famous quote on Bitcoin: “There has to be regulation. This has to be applied and agreed upon … at a global level because if there is an escape, that escape will be used.”
It’s a revealing statement, highlighting how Bitcoin offers an “escape route” from traditional financial systems—a route that could unlock greater decentralization and freedom.
➡️Wicked: Bitcoin's 4-Year CAGR has dropped below 10% for the first time ever.
➡️Texas introduces HB 4258, aiming to allocate up to $250M of state funds to Bitcoin and digital assets, and allowing local governments to invest up to $10M.
➡️Bitwise has launched a "Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF" that includes +70 companies holding Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset.
➡️Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino: The US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve announcement is a “holy sh*t” moment for the rest of the world, realizing they’re late and don’t have enough Bitcoin.
On the 12th of March:
➡️US Government should issue $2 TRILLION of Bitcoin-backed Bonds to buy $200B of Bitcoin - Newmarket Capital CEO Bit Bonds in a nutshell:
90% goes to government funding, 10% to buying bitcoin
1% interest annually for 10 years
100% of BTC upside paid up to 4.5% compounded annual return
Remaining BTC upside split 50/50 with the government
➡️The Kingdom of Bhutan builds a gorgeous airport thanks to Bitcoin mining profits using hydro-electricity.
➡️Deutsche Bank says a US strategic Bitcoin reserve "could set international standards.
➡️Bitcoin dropped 72% in 2018 ($3,740.50 bottom) due to the USA - China trade war and 2.9% inflation...
➡️Rumble just bought another $27m Bitcoin.
On the 13th of March:
➡️'FIVE years ago today, Bitcoin crashed more than 50% in ONE day, from $7,900 to $3,800 in hours. We're up 21X ever since. Zoom out, DCA Bitcoin, and enjoy the ride. We are just getting started.' - CarlBMenger
➡️78% of all ETH/BTC trading days are now in the red... REKT.
➡️While Retail Paper Hands are selling their precious coins, whales bought them. Over 65K Bitcoin net-accumulated in the past 30 Days, excluding Miners and Exchanges.
➡️New peer-reviewed research study finds Bitcoin mining has the potential to significantly enhance the sustainability of the energy supply chain by using wasted resources and creating new business opportunities that align economic incentives with sustainability goals.
It's one of 15 pieces of peer-reviewed research showing Bitcoin has significant environmental benefits.
You can find the full list here: https://x.com/DSBatten/status/1899951222779789420
➡️The Bitcoin Act to buy 1 MILLION Bitcoin is under consideration by Congress.
➡️Bitcoin ETF inflows have fallen to $35B from a $40B peak, yet with $115B in AUM, over 95% of capital is holding firm despite a 25% price drop.
➡️Construction of the Vega 205 megawatt Bitcoin mine in Texas is nearing completion. Hut 8 is installing dry coolers for the direct-to-chip liquid cooling system while finishing up the side panels, insulation, and roof.
➡️Fast food giant Steak 'n Shake posted this picture of a Bitcoin spaceship.
➡️Altcoin holders are deep in the red, with some tokens nearing 100% at a loss. I am not surprised, the house (shitcoin casinos) always wins.
On the 14th of March:
➡️Russia is using Bitcoin and Tether to pay for oil trades with China and India - Reuters
➡️Kentucky Senate passes bill that will protect Bitcoin self-custody rights with 0 votes against it. The bill now heads to the Governor's desk.
➡️Brazil bill seeks to legalize the use of Bitcoin to pay salaries and benefits.
On the 15th of March:
➡️'Senator Lummis's proposed BITCOIN Act lays out how America would revalue its gold certificates to buy 1 million Bitcoin over 5 years.
1.Within 180 days of enactment, Federal Reserve banks must return all gold certificates to the U.S. Treasury.
2.Within 90 days of receiving the last one, the Treasury will issue new certificates reflecting gold’s market price.
3.Federal Reserve banks must pay the Treasury the difference if the new certificates are worth more.
4.This extra cash goes to the government fund within 90 days.' - BitcoinNews

➡️DOGE’S FORT KNOX GOLD AUDIT COULD TAKE 18 MONTHS A full audit of Fort Knox’s gold reserves would be a massive undertaking, with JM Bullion estimating it would take at least 18 months to complete.
Requires 20 personnel
Uses 18 high-quality scales & XRF scanners
Needs 2 boring drills & 18 item carts The effort aims to bring long-overdue transparency to U.S. gold holdings—a process that hasn’t been fully conducted in decades. That's cute, I can audit the entire Bitcoin supply from my home in less than a minute.
On the 17th of March:
➡️'80 public companies are now buying bitcoin. Two years ago there were 33. Two years from now there will be...?' -River (foto) With 55,214 publicly traded companies worldwide, that's a little over one in a thousand. It's so early!
➡️Bitcoin reserves held by the 14 biggest North American mining companies exceeded 101,000 BTC for the first time in February.
➡️'Strategy has acquired 130 BTC for ~$10.7M at ~$82,981 per bitcoin and has achieved a Bitcoin Yield of 6.9% YTD 2025. As of 3/16/2025, we hodl 499,226 Bitcoin acquired for ~$33.1 billion at ~$66,360 per Bitcoin.' - Saylor
🎁If you have made it this far I would like to give you a little gift:
'A long but thoughtful analysis and opinion on the current volatility and pricing of Bitcoin. We’re in the midst of a technological, monetary, fiscal & currency shift. This is more than an investment idea. The unbanked around the world might soon find freedom as a result.'
https://x.com/JoeConsorti/status/1900285521084965204
After that, kick back, relax, and enjoy: Bitcoin Mastermind Q1 2025 with Joe Carlasare, Jeff Ross, & American HODL.
'A deep dive into the dollar’s weakness, Bitcoin bonds, regulatory updates, and market liquidity trends. Plus, an analysis of major economic shifts, technical buy signals, and the outlook for global assets.'

🧠Quote(s) of the week:
'For anybody worried about Bitcoin's current pullback, here's some perspective: Today's drawdowns are within range of previous bull-run pullbacks. In other words, corrections like these are historically normal during bull runs. Steady lads!' - The Bitcoin Layer
🧡Bitcoin news🧡
On the 4th of March:
➡️The IMF demands El Salvador stop buying Bitcoin as a condition of further funding. Disgusting! The IMF just made a very public confession: Bitcoin is a direct threat to their power. By barring El Salvador from accumulating more, the IMF is admitting that sovereign Bitcoin adoption shatters their grip.

'94 countries have loans with the IMF. All those countries were just sent a message that they can’t buy Bitcoin. This is why after 2021 no other countries followed El Salvador, SOMETHING stopped the momentum.
We now have a pretty good idea who was behind that.' - Nico (Bitvolt)

The IMF considers Bitcoin a threat
No longer useless, but revolutionary.'
➡️River: 'The era of "banning" Bitcoin is over. It has never been more globally accessible than today. Countries are slowly coming around to Bitcoin products, payments, custody, and now reserves.'
➡️'Crypto markets are now worth -$100 billion LESS than they were before the US Crypto Reserve announcement. Over the last 24 hours, crypto has erased -$500 BILLION of market cap in a massive reversal.
➡️China-based Holographic tech firm MicroCloud has purchased up to $200 million in Bitcoin.
➡️Riot mined 470 Bitcoin worth $39.6 million in February.
➡️BlackRock wakes up to Bitcoin's scarcity: "If every millionaire in the US asked their financial advisor to get them 1 bitcoin, there wouldn’t be enough." You don't say!😉 There isn't enough Bitcoin for everyone on earth to have 0.01 BTC. Today you can buy 0.01 BTC for $860. 0.01 BTC will eventually buy a house.
➡️North Korea’s Lazarus Group has fully laundered the proceeds of the Bybit hack. 500,000 ETH has been converted, primarily to BTC as ETH trades down to ~$2,100.
On the 5th of March:
➡️Metaplanet acquires another 497 Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 2,888. Metaplanet CEO says, “We wanna buy as much Bitcoin as we can before the price goes up.” “I think $1 Million is still cheap in the long term.”
➡️Strategy is the largest convertible bond issuer again in 2025. Year to date, they are 30% of the US convertible market, powered by Bitcoin.
On the 6th of March:
➡️Bhutan’s PM tells how strategic Bitcoin reserve helped finance their nation’s expenses. 'Hundreds of people have made billions of dollars on the back of Bitcoin - why aren't governments doing more?'
➡️Liquidity is coming! 'The Global M2 Money Supply chart just printed another vertical line. (See the far right side of the chart. Yellow line.)
The rally for Bitcoin and other assets is going to be epic.' - Colin Talks
Two days later: Global liquidity just hit a new ATH, adding $1.5 TRILLION IN ONE DAY. The correlation with M2 is mainly with direction, not necessarily magnitude. Bitcoin is now at $78,000—only $8k away from fully converging with the path that the global M2 money supply charted ~70 days ago.
Fear and greed index at 20, a value reached in bull markets when bitcoin is on its way to making a local bottom.
➡️'Texas passed the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve legislation SB 21 in the Senate. Texas is the 8th biggest economy in the world. This would be like Italy, France, or India establishing a Bitcoin Reserve.' -Bitcoin Archive
On the 7th of March:
➡️USA Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Plan

-BTC is recognized as a valuable strategic asset by the largest economy in the world.
-BTC and shitcoins are now officially separated in US government policy. Shitcoins seized won’t be sold, only Bitcoin is worth accumulating.
-Bessent and Lutnick were authorized to develop budget-neutral strategies for further acquisition.
Literally what else was anyone hoping for? This is everything.
The United States just signaled its intent to buy and hodl Bitcoin. Most people aren't aware of this information yet.
'I’ve noticed three distinct responses wrt the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.
No-coiners: Totally unaware. Didn’t know it happened. Couldn’t tell you the current Bitcoin price either.
Bitcoin Tourists: Bummed the announcement didn’t instantly pump their bags. Anxious the top may be in this cycle. Considering selling some.
Real Bitcoiners: Euphoric, bullish, regardless of short-term price action, knowing the long-term paradigm shift to a Bitcoin standard is well underway.' - AlanBWatts

➡️US Govt could sell some of its $800B gold to buy Bitcoin for its Strategic Reserve - Standard Chartered
On the 10th of March:
➡️Bitcoin just made the biggest weekly price drop in history with a $13,561 red candle. Bitcoin longs obliterated! Biggest wipeout since the crypto casino meltdowns (Celsius, 3AC, FTX). Leverage traders REKT

➡️Spain's second-largest bank BBVA gets approval to launch Bitcoin trading and custody services
➡️Japanse giant, SBI VC, just acquired 4000 Bitcoin.

🧠Quote(s) of the week:
Bitcoin adoption:
- Slow enough to confuse nearly everyone.
- Fast enough to change your life if you can just stay focused for 4 years.
Do you notice the higher your intellect grows (thanks to Bitcoin) the more unsocial you become, in real life. Or it's just me?
'First companies will add Bitcoin to their balance sheets. Then states will buy for their treasuries. And finally, sovereigns will hold it as a strategic asset. A natural progression that is already underway.' - James Lavish nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgq2hwaehxw309anxjmr5v4ezumn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tmwwp6kyvtnx4uhzdnhv9j8wuncv3jngmrgveen2dn8dcmrg6rh0f6ksmnxvym8ywtddg6rwdnjx4eng6rtw4h85em6w9e8xdn3xaaqqgxy3dwva4dd5axmq7xldvq055luzyuawwlsa5tduvja2g3qyywm65eft0d8
🧡Bitcoin news🧡
After last week's dip, I want to share the following quote and picture. Just to keep you sharp & focused.
nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7ct5d3shxtnwdaehgu3wd3skueqpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqqgzr08nkh7nk4q9cmw02wkfprkgtk0n8kgszlzyqe384ll3qv5rp453f6g5h : "If you think in years, dips are opportunities—not problems. Zoom out."

Bitcoin for Freedom: 'The Bitcoin dip is the best test to check if you understand Bitcoin. If you feel bad when it dips you don’t understand it. When you understand Bitcoin the fiat value doesn’t affect you and you have FOMO all the time.'
On the 25th of February:
➡️REKT! $1.5 BILLION leveraged crypto positions liquidated in 24 hours as Bitcoin plunges below $87,000. Bitcoin is down ~$20K from its all-time high of $109,354. $755.59 million was liquidated from the BTC perpetual futures market in the past 24 hours.
Just know for now Bitcoin is still following (with a 2-3 month lag) global liquidity.
M2 is a measure of liquidity and has been declining since December, but has recently begun to inflect back up again.
If history repeats the Bitcoin dip will soon come to an end and the recovery will be violent.
Oh, and just one more thing on this topic: 'M2 money supply growth per cycle:
2013 cycle: +26%
2017 cycle: +22%
2021 cycle: +49%
2025 cycle: +0.5%

➡️At the end of the Weekly Recap, I always share a little gift, a podcast, an article, a report, or a newsletter. This week a report by River. Excellent report. Please give it a read. This is the most important graph in the entire document IMO; we're just getting started:
➡️'31% of Australians have owned BTC or crypto, an all-time-high in adoption, per IRCI '25. 42.9% anticipate widespread future adoption, though 14.3% cite economic and regulatory concerns for not investing. 1 in 5 investors reported banking transaction delays or blocks.' - Bitcoin News
➡️'For years, Bitcoiners pushed exchanges to adopt Lightning. And guess what? It worked. Public Lightning volume is up 266% in about a year.' -Sam Wouters
➡️The Bybit hackers are bridging their stolen ETH to Bitcoin.
➡️ America’s largest publicly traded Bitcoin mining company, Mara, just acquired this 114-megawatt wind farm in Hansford County, Texas.
➡️ 'MicroStrategy has $8.2B debt against $43.4B of BTC. A leverage ratio of ~19%. Only $5B of CBs are below their conversion price, so the effective leverage ratio is more like ~11.5%. BTC would have to drop 80%-90% for MSTR to become insolvent. And none of this debt matures until 2028...' - Bitcoin Overflow

On the 26th of February:
➡️'The IMF today sent out a press release that says as per their agreement with El Salvador, "program commitments will confine" government purchases of bitcoin. This is the first time I've seen El Salvador's bitcoin reserve being implicated in the $1.4bn IMF deal.' - Pleditor
➡️'Unless bitcoin rebounds soon, it looks like the 4-year CAGR could dip below 10% for the first time ever.' - nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7cnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmqpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqqg909a5z75fgnxzjcej5lur94fq95sw3tc43edkfzucjxczhgncxuc80g2ys
➡️'This is currently who is selling. Short-term holders who bought the top are selling spot Bitcoin, this isn't leverage-driven, and perps aren't negative.
That is why equities such as MSTR are green, they must have bottomed out or close to it.
Just your old fashioned fire sale, in BTC.' - James van Straten
More than 74% of realized Bitcoin losses came from holders who bought in the last month! Only the educated survive.
➡️Publicly traded Fold Holdings buys an additional 10 Bitcoins for $875,000.
➡️SEC closes its inquiry into Gemini without enforcement after a 699-day investigation. Cameron Winklevoss calls for accountability, suggesting agencies reimburse legal costs for investigations lacking clear guidelines.

➡️BlackRock adds its own Bitcoin ETF into its $150 BILLION model-portfolio universe - Bloomberg While Bitcoin is facing short-term pressure from economic fears as weak-ass paper hands are folding, long-term institutional adoption keeps rising.
On the 1st of March:
➡️ Bitcoin dominance back above 61%.
➡️'Bitcoin mining/energy convergence spotted. Petrobras (Brazil) just started mining Bitcoin using flare gas (reduces methane emissions) They join oil companies already mining Bitcoin: Tecpetrol, YPF, Plus Petrol (Argentina), Gazpromneft (Russia), ExxonMobil & ConocoPhillips (US).' - Daniel Batten
On the 2nd of March:
➡️President Trump has officially announced the US Strategic Crypto Reserve and Bitcoin is back above $94,000. In just 3 hours, crypto markets have now added over +$300 BILLION in market cap on the news.
And you can't make this shit up. I couldn't agree more with Peter Schiff: "Bitcoin is digital gold, which is better than analog gold. So let's create a Bitcoin reserve...", "But what's the rationale for an XRP reserve? Why the hell would we need that?"
Trump pumped and dumped a meme coin on the eve of his presidency. Of course, he wants shitcoins, XRP, SOL, and ADA, in the strategic reserve. This is basically all of our journeys from Bitcoin to shitcoins, back to Bitcoin, but on a national scale.
Even Brian Armstrong, CEO of the biggest shitcoin casino in the world, Coinbase, thinks the Reserve should be Bitcoin only.
Luke Broyles:
'My prediction:
Trump makes crypto reserve.
Reserve pumps all assets.
Retail and some companies get burnt in said pump.
Public outcry to crypto reserve along with other critiques of the Trump administration.
Crypto reserve is dumped in the next bear market. Massive downwards narrative catalyst. Back to no Bitcoin.
The government figures out the importance of Bitcoin PoW and goes BTC only soon afterward.
Other nations follow suit over years'
Seems legit. Please read the following post by Parker Lewis:

“Bitcoin is the first form of money to ever exist that is also a currency.”
It is both a protocol and network, as the currency is embedded within the code, and validated by the network.

➡️Metaplanet has acquired 156 BTC for ~$13.4 million at ~$85,890 per bitcoin and has achieved a BTC Yield of 31.8% YTD 2025. As of 3/3/2025, we hold 2391 Bitcoin acquired for ~$196.3 million at ~82,100 per Bitcoin.
➡️Fidelity has bought $142.08 million Bitcoin for its ETF.
➡️Vietnam's Prime Minister has directed the Central Bank and Finance Ministry to draft a Digital Assets Framework by March.
➡️BlackRock’s model advisor team releases new Bitcoin report Key takeaways from “Why Bitcoin? A Perspective from Model Portfolio Builders”: • Bitcoin as a novel store of value and global monetary alternative • Hedge against USD hegemony and political instability • A play on the shift from offline to online commerce • Boosted by boomer-to-millennial wealth transfer • Potential for diversification and unique risk premia in portfolios • Intrinsic value expected to be increasingly recognized worldwide • Relevance grows in a debt-laden, digital-first, AI-entrenched world
➡️Meanwhile Ray Dalio tells Bloomberg that Bitcoin could be "a big part" of the restructuring of the global debt-based monetary system. Gold and Bitcoin are "store holds of wealth".

➡️Metaplanet buys another ¥4 billion worth of Bitcoin. 'After ten months on the Bitcoin Standard, Metaplanet owns approximately 1/10,340th of the world’s first & only absolutely scarce monetary asset.' - nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqywhwumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttsw43zuam9d3kx7unyv4ezumn9wsqzqzgz2jqp5l5w2zzmqtn3zc30phap4p2sxjf67fr25s40pr67f5kl34qnc2

➡️'Michael Saylor's STRATEGY announced pricing for up to $2.3 BILLION of convertible notes to buy more Bitcoin This is a $300m increase since the initial announcement.' -Bitcoin Archive
On the 21sst of February:
➡️The Bybit hack is officially the largest crypto heist in HISTORY. $1.46B+ stolen (especially ETH) and still counting. That's 16% of ALL previous crypto hacks COMBINED. The Bybit hacker, North Korea's Lazarus Group behind Bybit's $1.4 billion hack, is now the 14th largest ETH holder in the world. They hold roughly 0.42% of total supply, more than Fidelity, Vitalik, and 2x +what the Ethereum Foundation holds
Ethereum is toast. They can roll back the chain and destroy what is left of the decentralization claim or allow North Korean baad actors to keep $1.4B of ETH and unleash an eternal internal battle. Either way, it is terrible.
https://x.com/Leishman/status/1892970132000866335
Now are ask yourself: If Coinbase got hacked and their Bitcoin was stolen, would Bitcoin's CEO consider rolling back the chain?
➡️New report finds Bitcoin mining: https://x.com/MARAHoldings/status/1893015821535879475
brings $4.1 billion in annual U.S. gross product
creates 31,000 jobs
helps stabilize the grid
On the 22nd of February:
➡️Montana's #Bitcoin Reserve Bill has died in the House. I fully agree with the following statement made by BitBuyer313 on X: "Unpopular fact. This bill is going to get shot down in every single state that it was proposed, and a Bitcoin strategic reserve is going to get shot down as well. In the case of an emergency, the US government is one EO 6102 away from a strategic reserve honeypot called Coinbase.'
Not only Coinbase but also the ETFs and maybe even MSTR.
On the 24th of February:
➡️Whales are buying Bitcoin in quantities never seen before.

Strategy has now acquired 284,696 Bitcoin since the halving. That works out to 918 BTC per day since the halving. That is 2.04 times the daily issuance. Sjeezzzz
➡️Rezolve AI launches a $1B Bitcoin treasury program, starting with a $100M investment.
➡️'Citadel Securities to become Bitcoin and crypto liquidity provider for major exchanges like Coinbase, Binance, Crypto com, and others.' -Bitcoin Archive
➡️Germany's €370 BILLION Deka bank to launch Bitcoin and crypto trading+custody for institutions.
➡️Over $110,000,000,000 was wiped out from the crypto market in the past 24 hours.
➡️Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming all rejected bills for state Strategic Bitcoin Reserves over volatility concerns.
There are still 19 US states with live Strategic Bitcoin Reserves! A total of 5 states; WY, PA, ND, MT & MS have dead bills.
Joe Burnett: 'Unpopular opinion: Bitcoin’s volatility DOES make holding bitcoin risky in the short term, but the volatility is a function of its active monetization and 60% CAGR. Short-term swings don’t affect its long-term fundamentals or long-term performance.'
➡️Despite $38.6B flowing into Bitcoin ETFs since January 2024, only $17.5B (44%) appears to be from direct long-term investment, according to 10x Research. The remaining 56% likely involves arbitrage, where short Bitcoin futures are used to balance ETF inflows.

You conflate maximalism with close-mindedness because you believe money is a 'collective hallucination' instead of an emergent solution to a coordination problem. 'DOGE finding waste and fraud? Don’t miss the forest for the trees: Any money system that does not fix a unit of currency to a unit of energy is functionally fraudulent, because if a currency is not tied to energy, then creating fiat currency functionally means creating energy by govt fiat, which is a violation of physics, which is fraud.
Once you are in a system that pretends it can create energy by printing currency, it is just a question of “How much fraud occurs until the system collapses?”
You will know the end of that system is near when debt gets high, rates rise, & yet the price of energy-linked neutral assets like gold & BTC rise with rates (instead of falling), as free markets scramble out of printed currency & debt into actual energy linked assets, which is happening - rates up, & yet see gold and BTC.)' - Luke Gromen

➡️Valid point by Bit Harington: 'It takes years for Bitcoin to finally leave a new 10X price zone and start looking for the next 10X. $1K lasted ~3.5 years. $10K also 3 years. 🧡Bitcoin news🧡
Before we start some extra info to get you focused.
1 BTC is unreachable for the majority.
The aspiration used to be 6.15. Now it's 0.1.
'Now who owns Bitcoin? 'The Answer Might Surprise You.
👉🏽Bitcoin is often misunderstood. Some think it’s controlled by a handful of institutions, others believe governments secretly hoard it. The reality? Bitcoin ownership is diverse and widely distributed across individuals, businesses, funds, and even governments.
👉🏽57% of Bitcoin is held by individuals. From everyday savers to long-term believers, Bitcoin’s largest share is in the hands of the people.
👉🏽4% belongs to businesses. Companies are increasingly adding BTC to their treasuries, recognizing its role as digital gold.
👉🏽5% is held by funds and ETFs. Bitcoin is being adopted by the financial system, providing new ways for institutions and retail investors to gain exposure.
👉🏽Governments own 2% to 3%. Whether through seized BTC or strategic holdings where states already acknowledged Bitcoin’s value.
👉🏽Around 18% is estimated to be lost forever. This actually makes Bitcoin even scarcer than its 21 million cap suggests.
👉🏽Miners and yet-to-be-mined Bitcoin represent the rest. This small remaining fraction coupled with a fixed supply means competition for mining remaining bitcoins will only increase over time.
This distribution is one of the many reasons why Bitcoin is unique. Not only there is no single entity that controls it (no government or bank can print more of it), but also its distribution among the population is more fairly distributed than for any other monetary asset.
Bitcoin is owned by those who understand its value, regardless of nationality, religion, skin color, political affiliation, or beliefs. Bitcoin is for everyone.' -Thomas Jeegers
On the 28th of January:
➡️European Squash Federation adopts Bitcoin for its treasury.
➡️Binance under investigation for money laundering, tax fraud, and drug trafficking in France - Reuters
➡️'Metaplanet will issue 21 million new stock warrants with a 0% discount rate, raising approximately $870 million to fund additional Bitcoin purchases. This marks the largest-ever fundraising for Bitcoin purchases in the history of the Asian stock market.' -Metaplanet
➡️U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis received a framed Bitcoin block from Marathon’s Jayson Browder to mark her role as the new chair of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets. MARA Pool mined the block by calculating 1,476,600,000,000,000,000,000 Bitcoin hashes within 46 seconds.
➡️'Fidelity is now bigger than Greyscale:
BlackRock ETF: 576k BTC
Fidelity ETF: 205k BTC
Greyscale ETF: 202k BTC' -Bitcoin for Freedom
➡️'Brazil’s state-owned oil and gas company Petrobras is reportedly assessing getting into Bitcoin mining. This is a new chapter for the company and shows how traditional industries are adapting to the digital world. Petrobras, one of the largest and most profitable oil companies in the world, is going to use excess natural gas produced during the oil extraction process to power Bitcoin mining. This will reduce energy waste and methane emissions, and create a new revenue stream for the company.' -Bitcoin News
➡️Last week, the 613-foot smokestack of the former Somerset Generating Station in Niagara County, New York was demolished. The site, now Tera Wulf Inc.’s Lake Mariner Data, will focus on Bitcoin mining and AI processing powered by hydroelectric energy
➡️'For the first time ever in Bitcoin's 16-year history, the epoch-over-epoch (EOE) growth has fallen below +100%. Pack it up, fellas.'- Wicked
On the 29th of January:
➡️Czech central bank Governor Ales Michl said he would propose a plan to include bitcoin in the country’s official reserves, the Financial Times reported.
Michl statement: 'Czech National Bank’s goal is price stability. When we took office in July 2022, inflation was 17.5%. We brought it down to target. We are also diversifying reserves—gradually increasing gold holdings from 0% to around 5% and planning for 30% in equities. An asset under consideration is Bitcoin. It currently has zero correlation to bonds and is an interesting asset for a large portfolio. Worth considering. Right now, it’s only at the stage of analysis and discussion. The Bank Board decides, and no decision is imminent. Thoughtful analysis is needed.
Bitcoin has significant volatility, which makes it harder to take advantage of its current low correlation with other assets. That’s why I will ask our team on Thursday to further assess Bitcoin’s potential role in our reserves. Nothing more, nothing less. The article is very accurate, including my statement that Bitcoin could one day be worth either zero or a huge amount. At our meeting on Thursday, after discussing a document on international reserve management in 2024, the Bank Board of the Czech National Bank (CNB) approved a proposal to analyze the options for investing in additional asset classes.
The central bank has been increasingly diversifying its investments over the last two years as part of its reserve management strategy. At the proposal of Governor Aleš Michl, the CNB is to assess whether it would be appropriate in terms of diversification and return to include other asset classes in the reserves as well. Based on the results of the analysis, the Bank Board will then decide how to proceed further. No changes will be implemented in this area until then. Any changes in the reserve portfolios will be disclosed in the quarterly information on the CNB’s international reserves and the CNB’s annual report.'
The head of a central bank tweeting about potentially allocating to Bitcoin was not on my 2025 bingo card.
➡️Jerome Powell: "Banks are perfectly able to serve crypto customers." I love how everyone is recognizing and acknowledging Bitcoin now. Banks can custody Bitcoin on behalf of clients, create structured Bitcoin financial products, and allow customers to buy Bitcoin. Even Powell isn't badmouthing it anymore.
On the 29th of January:
➡️'It is utterly remarkable that BTC Dominance is at 62% considering it's really from 45% to 62% has coincided with massive issuance of Memecoins This really is a different market, a schism between Bitcoin and Crypto.' - Steven Lubka
➡️Illinois State Rep. has introduced a bill to establish a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve.
➡️The decoupling of Bitcoin & Crypto Market Caps:

ETH losing 50% of its value vs. BTC in the past 11 months explains the lack of enthusiasm about $100K BTC. Mitchell Hodl: '2 years ago if you sold 1 ETH and bought Bitcoin, you would have acquired ~.07 BTC. Today if you sell 1 ETH and buy Bitcoin, you’ll acquire .03 BTC. Those “toxic maximalists” were right. If it’s not BTC, it’s dogshit.'
On the 3rd of February Bitcoin dominance soared over 64%. Four-year high. Massively bullish. Despite the hundreds of billions of dollars invested in crypto, Bitcoin dominance has just tagged Nov 2017 levels. At 73%, it unwinds back to the pre-ICO era.
'The truth is, there is no more alt season. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can still build up a meaningful Bitcoin position. You're not too late. You're among the first 1-2% of people to get into bitcoin. It's time to leave this chapter of false narratives behind and get on board with something real and meaningful.' - Sam Wouters
If you're trying to outperform Bitcoin with an "alt", just remember that you're mixing with a crowd that is simply trying to beat you to the exit.
➡️Senator Bob Menendez who fought against El Salvador adopting Bitcoin was just sentenced to 11 years in prison for taking bribes in Gold and Cash! Classic!
➡️INDIANA Bitcoin Bill!
HB 1322 would allow 'the Hoosier state' to invest state retirement funds in Bitcoin ETFs. Nation-states, States, Companies & Individuals are clamoring to acquire Bitcoin.
On the 30th of January:
➡️World's largest stablecoin Tether is now minting its stablecoin on the Bitcoin Lightning Network.
➡️ECB chief Lagarde says she "is confident" that Bitcoin will not end up in the EU central bank reserves. Here is the video of how she is explaining that Bitcoin isn’t liquid, secure, or safe for EU reserves.
Bitcoin trades 24/7—one of the most liquid markets in the world.
Its code secures $2T+ in wealth, never hacked.
It’s the most secure computer code ever written.
Remember what she said on Bitcoin a while ago: 'It's a matter that needs to be agreed at a global level. If there is an escape, that escape will be used.'
Oh one more: "People are happier to have a job than to have their savings protected." — Christine Lagarde, 10/30/2019
Christine Lagarde has been convicted of more crimes than the average Bitcoin user. Oh well, the more that central banks manipulate the money, the more people will want sound money, and the more people will turn to Bitcoin. Checkmate.
➡️Norway's sovereign wealth fund's indirect Bitcoin exposure has increased by 153% in the past year, reaching 3,821 BTC. Since 2020, its Bitcoin holdings have grown from 796 BTC to over 3,821 BTC, now valued at over € 350M.
➡️'A $400 home Bitcoin miner just mined a block worth OVER $330,000. They beat ONCE IN A LIFETIME odds.' -Pete Rizzo
On the 31st of January:
➡️'For the first time in nearly 2 years, the Bitcoin network is running out of pending transactions to fill up new blocks. It's looking like it could happen within a few hours (only 6 block backlog). This is nothing to worry about. But if you self-custody bitcoin, it's a great time to learn about UTXOs and consolidate the ones in your wallet, which could save you thousands of dollars worth of bitcoin in the long term.' - Tom Honzik

➡️MicroStrategy will have up to $584m to buy more Bitcoin after its stock offering was oversubscribed by nearly 3X, increasing from 2.5M shares to 7.3M priced at $80 each.
➡️El Salvador removes Bitcoin's legal tender status and makes its acceptance voluntary, in line with IMF requirements for a $1.4B credit line. Francis Pouliot: 'Bukele bends the knee to IMF and officially abandons the original Bitcoin law that had caused Bitcoiners to move and invest there in the first place... exactly at the same time as the Bitcoin conference in El Salvador attracting Bitcoiners from all over the world.'
➡️The 2nd time this week another solo Bitcoin miner mined a $300.000 block.
On the 1st of February:
➡️'For the past three consecutive months, the Bitcoin network has processed more than $2 trillion worth of transactions. That's a lot of utility!' -Pierre Rochard
➡️Retail are capitulating their Bitcoin, whilst whales are buying. Transfer of wealth from the weak hands to the strong hands. Retail investors are reducing exposure, while large investors (whales) are capitalizing on this opportunity to accumulate. Historically, this divergence aligns with accumulation phases before price appreciation.
➡️So far, so good: Spot bitcoin ETFs pulled in $4.94 billion in January, which annualizes to ~$59 billion. For context: In all of 2024, they brought in $35.2 billion.
On the 3rd of February:
➡️Ethereum just fell -37% in 60 hours since the trade war headlines mid-day on Friday.
➡️$2B liquidated in 24 hours. That’s a record. More than the COVID dump. More than the FTX collapse.

➡️'Solid, data-driven reporting on why Bitcoin mining is increasingly regarded among energy experts, academics, and those in the environmental movement as a net positive to the environment across several fronts.' - Daniel Batten on the Mara report.

➡️$562m leveraged Bitcoin positions liquidated as the price plunged as low as $91,359 this morning.

🧠Quote(s) of the week:
'DeepSeek increases my conviction that Bitcoin must be the hurdle rate for capital deployment. AI innovation at this speed and scale will substantially disrupt valuation metrics across industries and is not currently priced in. Those who secure a war chest of Bitcoin will be the long-run winners, picking up distressed assets for pennies on the dollar. Focus on three things: AI, Bitcoin, and energy.' -Matt Cole
Just to elaborate on the above statement by a tweet by nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqywhwumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttsw43zuam9d3kx7unyv4ezumn9wsqzqzgz2jqp5l5w2zzmqtn3zc30phap4p2sxjf67fr25s40pr67f5kl34qnc2 in 2021:
'Problems:
1. Infinite liquidity doesn’t fix a solvency issue.
2. Inflationary monetary policy can’t work against technological deflation.
Solution: Bitcoin'
To me it is crystal clear: BTC was built for this. AI deflates, central banks print, and Bitcoin absorbs the chaos.
🧡Bitcoin news🧡
On the 21st of January:
➡️MicroStrategy shareholders approved increasing the total number of shares from 330 million to 10.3 billion, paving the way for future fundraising to acquire more Bitcoin (55.8% approval).
➡️Bitcoin's mining difficulty has seen a 24% quarterly increase since August 2024.
Saylor: "Bitcoin mining difficulty has reached a new all-time high.
Creating BTC requires proof of work and significant energy, making it increasingly expensive over time. Historically, mining difficulty and price are closely linked—a strong signal for bullish momentum."
The Difficulty Regression Model estimates the cost to mine 1 Bitcoin at $33.9K, while Bitcoin trades at ~$104K. This ~3x profitability margin showcases miners' resilience, even as mining difficulty continues to rise in this cycle: Glassnode https://t.co/bSY1SHBS7e
➡️'Bitcoin ETFs launched a year ago and now hold over 1,100,000 BTC which is ~5.7% of the current supply.' -Jameson Lopp
➡️The governor of the South African central bank scoffs at the idea of a strategic Bitcoin reserve asking, “Why not a strategic beef reserve? Why not an apple reserve? Why Bitcoin?!”
And at that same panel discussion at the World Economic Forum, we had Brian Amstrong, CEO of Coinbase, praising Bitcoin as the best money in the world.
“It’s clear at this point, bitcoin is a better form of money than gold…For a store-of-value, governments must hold bitcoin over time”
➡️Corporate announcements this morning:
- MicroStrategy has bought 11,000 BTC for $1.1 billion, and now holds 461,000 bitcoin.
Microstrategy now owns 2.195% of all Bitcoins that will ever exist.
- KULR Technology Group has bought 79 BTC for $8 million, and now holds 510 bitcoin.
- Genius Group has bought 52 BTC for $5 million, and now holds 420 bitcoin.
➡️ETH holders absolutely deserve what is coming. The following text/tweet by Vitalik Buterin just shows you how decentralized Ethereum is.
'No. This is not how this game works.
The person deciding the new EF leadership team is me. One of the goals of the ongoing reform is to give the EF a "proper board", but until that happens it's me.
If you "keep the pressure on", then you are creating an environment that is actively toxic to top talent. Some of Ethereum's best devs have been messaging me recently, expressing their disgust with the social media environment that people like you are creating. YOU ARE MAKING MY JOB HARDER.
And you are decreasing the chance I have any interest whatsoever in doing "what you want".
TLDR: There’s no “me” in Bitcoin. If your "crypto" has a leader, it's not decentralized. Period!
➡️Bitcoin mining in Texas has had a positive impact on the state's power grid and has also potentially saved billions by reducing reliance on expensive and polluting gas-peaking plants, according to the latest report from the Digital Assets Research Institute.
➡️Critical Metals Corp secures up to $500M in convertible note financing to purchase Bitcoin for its Bitcoin treasury strategy.
This makes them the first Nasdaq-listed critical minerals company to adopt Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset.
➡️Legendary investor Ray Dalio says Bitcoin he owns Bitcoin to “reduce the risk of a portfolio”.
On the 22nd of January:
➡️ Finally Ross Ulbricht is free. Pardoning Ross is a promise fulfilled by Trump. Revealing that this was an act of the deep state is next level, calling the people who convicted him "scum." Trump: "The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern-day weaponization of government against me. He was given two life sentences, plus 40 years." Politicians stay Politicians, but I am glad Ross is free.
Ross didn’t sell drugs—he built an anonymous, free, and open platform on Tor called Silk Road.
'Silk Road sold apparel, art, books, collectibles, computer equipment, electronics, herbs, and yeah—drugs. But according to friends who used it, Silk Road was arguably the safest way drugs were ever sold: no street violence, no shady deals, and zero fentanyl. Everything was tested and peer-reviewed, like an Amazon for substances.'
Don’t forget… the DOJ seized 173,991 Bitcoin directly and indirectly from Ross Ulbricht.
It was $34 Million when they took it.
Today it’s worth ~$18.4 BILLION.
Newcomers to Bitcoin may not understand why old-timers care so much about Ross Ulbricht. Great explanation by Vijay Boyapati:
https://x.com/real_vijay/status/1881869635915809001
On the 23rd of January:
➡️China sold its entire 194K BTC stash, seized from PlusToken, despite official claims of transferring it to the national treasury, according to CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju.
➡️YouTube rival Rumble to launch digital wallet to make Bitcoin and Tether payments. Tether-backed video-sharing platform Rumble to launch Rumble Wallet, which will allow creators to receive tips and subscription payments directly in Bitcoin or Tether.
➡️Ledger co-founder David Balland was kidnapped and a cryptocurrency ransom was demanded. GIGN rescued him and multiple suspects are in custody.
https://x.com/0xLouisT/status/1882711063306666287
On the 24th of January:
➡️SAB 121 has been rescinded, allowing banks to custody Bitcoin. Banks can now offer Bitcoin services to hundreds of millions of customers.
The Bitcoin Podcast: nostr:nprofile1qyt8wue69uhh2mtzwfjkctnvda3kzmp6xsurgwqpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqqgxy3c5lqj6g9nqpeg0ea7xgdmurrrq9nc8fx5er2930pq8jdc2vzyu7yza6
But what exactly is SAB 121 and what does its repeal mean for Bitcoin? Eric Weiss breaks it down:
"I think that's gonna be a massive, massive catalyst down the road for a US dollar price appreciation of Bitcoin."
https://x.com/titcoinpodcast/status/1882599727880917490
➡️Bitcoin is above $100k but retail interest is the lowest it's been in 3 years.
➡️How popular is Bitcoin on Wall Street? 6% of all the money flowing into American ETFs is now Bitcoin.
➡️A user just successfully sent ~$866,430,722 worth of Bitcoin for a 33¢ transaction fee using the blockchain.
➡️President Trump’s new executive order protects American’s right to use public blockchains, develop and deploy software, participate in mining and validation, transact without censorship, and safeguard their own digital assets. The freedom to build, mine, and hodl Bitcoin.
➡️Spot Bitcoin ETFs are now bigger than ESG ETFs.
On the 25th of January:
➡️Bitcoin has completely dislocated from its ~70-day global M2 lag.
It's been on a run of its own for the last 30 days.
➡️As mentioned above but also in the segment (Macro/Geopolitics) Trump took a bold stand against CBDCs, protecting Americans from the financial tyranny they represent.
But now, Ripple is working behind the scenes to undermine his administration and sneak CBDCs in through a backdoor while lobbying heavily.
Ripple is public enemy number one this cycle, and it’s time everyone recognized it.
You don’t hate XRP enough, plain and simple.
If you understood what they’re trying to pull, your outrage would be through the roof.
Jameson Lopp nostr:nprofile1qy08wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttsw43zuam9d3kx7unyv4ezumn9wshsz8thwden5te0dehhxarj9e3xjarrda5kuetj9eek7cmfv9kz7qpq7u5dneh8qjp43ecfxr6u5e9sjamsmxyuekrg2nlxrrk6nj9rsyrquyd27a : There's Bitcoin, then there's Crypto, then there's Ripple.
Ripple has attacked Bitcoin at a level rivaled only by BSV's lawsuits.
Ripple explicitly wants to power CBDCs. They have always been focused on servicing banks.
Few projects are as antithetical to Bitcoin.
Brad Garlinghouse douchebag and CEO of Ripple: "We would not be profitable or cash flow positive without selling our XRP holdings.”
All 100 billion XRP tokens were created out of thin air by Ripple Labs in 2012 and reserved for insiders.
Ripple's income comes from dumping these coins on the public.
On the 26th of January:
➡️Only 1,056,700 Bitcoin is left to be mined, forever.

➡️Russia's largest energy supplier Rosseti to launch Bitcoin mining operations in areas with excess electricity, aiming to optimize energy use, increase tax revenue, and support the development of BTC mining in Russia.
➡️Brazilian oil giant Petrobras to launch Bitcoin mining operations using excess natural gas produced during oil extraction, to reduce energy waste and carbon emissions.
➡️MicroStrategy to offer 2.5 million shares of 'Series A Perpetual Strike Preferred Stock' to buy more Bitcoin.
➡️Arizona is the first state to pass a bill out of committee to create a ‘Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.’
Co-sponsored by Wendy Rogers and Jeff Weninger, the bill now heads to the state Senate floor for a vote.
➡️El Salvador is now the second fastest-growing tourist destination in the world.
Bitcoin and Tourism.
➡️'Cboe BZX Exchange files amended rules to allow in-kind redemptions and creations for the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF.
This follows Nasdaq’s similar filing for BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, signaling progress in spot Bitcoin ETF mechanics.' -Bitcoin News
What we have learned last week:
'Vitalik doesn’t buy Ethereum, only sells it.
Ripple doesn’t buy XRP, only sells it.
The US doesn’t buy USD, only prints it.
There can only be one Bitcoin— wake up' - Cory Bates

➡️Eighth consecutive positive adjustment on the horizon. We saw nine in 2021 and 17 in 2018. This is insane.
➡️A Santander Bank report highlights El Salvador’s booming tourism industry, fueled by Bitcoin adoption.
The country announced 3.9M tourists in 2024—a 22% YoY increase and nearly double the levels seen between 2013-2016.
➡️Bitcoin mining difficulty increased by 0.6101% today. The network has programmatically adjusted to a new difficulty level of 110,451,907,374,649 hashes, ensuring the target block time remains stable as global computing power on the network fluctuates.

➡️The number of Bitcoin addresses holding over 100 BTC has surged by 8.6% since Trump’s election in November.
➡️Ming Shing Group from Hong Kong just acquired 500 Bitcoin for $47M.
➡️Semler Scientific has acquired 237 BTC for ~$23.3 million at ~$98,267 per Bitcoin and has generated a BTC Yield of 99.3% since adopting our BTC treasury strategy in May 2024. As of 1/10/2025, we held 2,321 Bitcoin acquired for ~$191.9 million at ~$82,687 per Bitcoin.
➡️$11.5 trillion BlackRock says that Bitcoin adoption is outpacing the internet and mobile phones.
On the 14th of January:
➡️The Bitcoin network has 610,929x more hashing computational power than the combined total of the world’s top 500 supercomputers.
On the 16th of January:
➡️'Someone just moved 11,000 Bitcoin worth $1.1 BILLION around the world for ONLY $1.50
The world's most efficient monetary network.' - Pete Rizzo
➡️XRP is down 80% from its bitcoin all-time high in 2017. Just don't do shitcoins, it's that simple.
On the 17th of January:
➡️'They did it again! Bindseil and Schaaf published the article, 'Arguments Against a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve'.
It is a wild ride, reaching peak FUD. Maybe even so wild that they had to publish it in a newspaper and not as an ECB blog post.
This is ultra bullish' - Dr. Jan Wüstenfeld
➡️Metaplanet's market cap closes above $1 billion for the first time since adopting a Bitcoin Standard.
➡️Jeroen Blokland: ‘Nearly one-fifth of all U.S. states are formally weighing whether to have public funds invest in Bitcoin.’
I am afraid and convinced at the same time that soon, the EU will be the only region still aiming to introduce a central bank digital currency. As a result, it will trigger more polarization, and Europe will lose the Bitcoin battle, just as it hopelessly lost the technology and AI battle.
➡️'ETH was supposed to become deflationary after the "merge"
But now the supply is almost back to where it was BEFORE the merge
If you're still falling for this shit, you deserve to get scammed.' -Rajat Soni
To make it even worse:
'The ETHBTC ratio is now lower than the day when Coinbase listed it in 2016. You would have been buying ETH at ~$13, but funny enough if you would have just bought and held Bitcoin, you would have actually outperformed it.' -Pledditor.
➡️ First union in Idaho bought Bitcoin.

More than double the $8.7 trillion settled over the network in 2023 - reversing two years of declining transaction volume since 2021. Decisively proving that Bitcoin is both a store of value and a medium of exchange.
On the 18th of January:

They need 100,000 signatures to put it to a national vote.
➡️3.47M Bitcoin addresses hold more than 0.1 BTC. If you own one of them you’re set for life.
➡️Donald Trump dropped a meme coin instead of stacking Bitcoin for a Strategic Reserve. If the president of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA can launch and promote a memecoin, then essentially it's OK (and not shamed) for anyone/anywhere to do so.
The grift to come is going to be unreal, even by CrApTo standards.
A memecoin/shitcoin is a zero-sum* lottery.
There is no wealth creation. Every buy order is simply matched by a sell order. After an initial spike, the price eventually crashes and the last buyers lose everything.
That's the only thing I am going to share on the subject.
➡️Arizona Strategic Bitcoin Reserve bill introduced
The State can invest up to 10% from:

On the 2nd of January:
➡️Billionaire investor Ray Dalio recommends Bitcoin as 'hard money' amid national debt increases, per the Block.

➡️On this day 16 years ago Bitcoin went online! Happy Bitcoin Genesis Block Day!
This block is unspendable. Satoshi also waited 6 days before mining block #2 so others had time to join the network.
Now that Bitcoin has existed for 16 years! Lindy effect says that Bitcoin would at least exist for another 16 years.
January 3, 2009. Satoshi undermines block 0 on a difficulty 1 CPU and incorporates into the Genesis Block hexadecimal code base the headline of that day’s Times “The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on the brink of second bailout for banks”. The bank bailout plan ‘cause of the subprime mortgage crisis in the GFC.
Since that day, the network has grown dramatically. Now, millions of people all over earth use Bitcoin. And while it’s great to hear that other countries like El Salvador, Bhutan, and others are embracing Bitcoin, I can’t help but wish my own country 🇳🇱 was embracing Bitcoin too.
Tick tick, next block without fail, Bitcoin continues to provide us with the most significant tool for freedom of speech and monetary sovereignty in the digital age!
Bitcoin is about financial inclusion and economic empowerment.🎯
Bitcoin is secured by the most powerful computing network in the world!🧡
Which leads me to the following.
➡️Just like with other emerging tech, perspectives evolve. Fascinating to see that finally, the vast majority of academic papers are recognizing the benefits of Bitcoin Mining.
Daniel Batten: "87.5% of contemporary peer-reviewed literature on Bitcoin and energy highlight Bitcoin mining having significant, scaleable environmental benefits
This shift in scientific consensus follows the same trend as that of other nascent technologies, where first-generation research is superseded by more nuanced work based on better understanding, more case studies, and improved data."
Here you can find the list of those 14 of the last 16 peer review academic papers: https://x.com/DSBatten/status/1874858383523618887
➡️Another one, a scientific paper suggests that Bitcoin could function as a safe haven in relation to geopolitical risk in times of market crashes.
"We find that Bitcoin and the Swiss Franc function as safe havens in relation to geopolitical risk in times of market crashes while Gold and Treasury bonds do not. [...] the protective aspects [...] mainly show through large stock market moves."
➡️Eric Balchunas: "IBIT with its biggest outflow day ever yesterday with $332m, about 0.7% of the total aum. It's so over.."
We had a good run everyone. haha
➡️If you were hoping to see evidence for how simple it can be to do Bitcoin right… here you go. Just buy and hold.

➡️'Unredacted FDIC documents reveal coordinated efforts to restrict Bitcoin activities under Operation Chokepoint 2.0, exposing systemic discrimination against the industry.' TFTC
Ridiculous actions were taken with intent over the last few years. We all knew it. I am not surprised at all.
➡️The Bitcoin network finalized more than $19 trillion worth of BTC transactions in 2024. More than double the $8.7 trillion settled over the network in 2023 - reversing two years of declining transaction volume since 2021. Decisively proving that Bitcoin is both a store of value and a medium of exchange.
On the 5th of January:
➡️The largest Bitcoin mine in the world is nearing completion.
Riot Blockchain’s new facility is under construction in Corsicana Texas, which, once fully developed, will be powered by 1 gigawatt in total mining capacity.
➡️Ffs nothing learned from 2022, ahumm FTX ahuhmm Celcius. 'One of the largest publicly traded Bitcoin mining firms in the U.S., MARA, has lent 7,377 BTC to third parties to generate yield, representing approximately 16% of its total reserves. These loans are “short-term arrangements with well-established third parties.” The long-term objective is to generate sufficient yield to offset operating expenses.'
Surely nobody has even gotten caught offsides rehypothecating their Bitcoin, right? Right!?!?!?
