Agreed, but insistence that your god is the only god is a lot different of a motivator than when your god was just the best among many.

We used to fight ALL the time, especially around 2016/2017 when my now wife and I first started dating.
But since they got to know me over the years and I’ve talked to them about bitcoin it’s been going better.

Impressive! I’ve been telling my father-in-law about bitcoin since it was $5k and he’s still stuck on “it has no inherent value.”
This was in 2018, and I’m still not sure what the tip was from, but it wasn’t uncommon back then to have on-chain addresses listed in social media profiles. I got a bunch of these, at least a few this big, including some (*gasp*) in altcoins.
I’ll let you do the math on what this pre-nostr ‘zap’ is now worth.
