I guess I'm one of those #vtubers. Having fun talking about general topics, vrchat/similar, and games. Also #indiedev #gamedev. You can call me: Freak فْرِيكٌ フリク (still learning Nihongo). #envtuber #podcast #gaming #gamedev

Sure, but that's still complicated / includes a lot of steps and management.

Amber + Nostr is the simplest future we'll get imo.

The moment Amber has a smooth UX and QR scan/signing process in most clients (along with the current clients detecting if you have the app to login with), is the moment where #nostr starts becoming mainstream, where its just continuing to create clients now.

Why?

My mother's pain points with current traditional systems:

What's my email? what's my password? can you register for me on this thing? how do I download this app? how can you create an account? which email should i use? etc.

#Nostr + #Amber:

One "account".

One pin lock.

Login process: Scan/approve.

For everything.

I told and showed her this process, along with the zap store for downloading apps without playstore's usual headache process. She was thrilled, and asked how we can start using it. Not yet is the answer since we're still not there yet, and told her "This is the near future".

Nice! =3

Oh, ok.

Just tested it. I uninstalled ntfy and switched to direct connect, and it worked. Great =)

(I wonder why the default options isn't this tho, would've saved me 10 to 30 figuring out what was wrong / why wasn't i connecting to nostrudle x3)

Ah, ok, that's how things are done at the moment.

Ok, so at the moment, to remote sign from one device to another (mobile to pc):

- Download/install/run ntfy on your phone

- Download/install/run Amber on your phone

- Open https://nostrudel.ninja/ (only web client i know that supports this latest flow at the moment), login, advanced, bunker

- Open Amber, head to permissions, +, new app, copy the bunker address and paste it over on nostrudel (or click the QR button on your pc if u have a webcam, then the QR on amber, and scan the QR).

- on nostrudel, hit connect, then you'll see a notification in your phone, open it (it won't appear in Amber as of this current testing), then approve.

- Done.

- Do activities, and you'll get notifications to approve (you gotta open the notifications, it won't appear on Amber otherwise, as of current testing), and allow auto sign for each signing/publishing type as they come so you don't have to sign every time.

Thoughts:

- Cool! Finally!

- Looking forward to the day where its just one app, not 2.

- Kinda sucks that there's no re-sign-in to the same remote client, so you have to remove the connection then repeat this process.

- Would've been nicer if there was a QR code on the client's side and Amber scans it, instead of the current reverse.

- Ya, very rough UX, but this is the start. Looking forward to advancements/improvements <3

As soon as there are clients (web and app) that allow remote logging in (QR scan) and scanning, will definitely do 🤘

Haven't found a client that supports this yet tho

I think I mentioned this before but will do so again.

Bitcoin -> 12 words -> Wallet -> Generate addresses

Bitcoin Wallet.

Looking forward to:

Nostr -> 12 words -> Book -> Generate addresses

Nostr Book.

(which also acts as a remote signer ala Amber)

Who's going to design and develop the best Nostr Book? <3

#nostr #NostrBook

Woke up to a nice surprise.

GigaChad Merlin became a Glorious Golden GigaChad with a stronger attack!

We'll definitely reach MVP-A with this 🤘

I'm not sure when, but an update post with more tangible results should go up by... I'm thinking end of next month.

Wouldn't be surprised x3

With that said, the general sentiment in the industry right now, including myself, in regards to how bad localizers, not translators, at translating, is:

Fuck it, we'll take AI. Its bad, but at least its closer to being accurate.

Objection!

An increase in Wolf-like commodification leads to an increase in the number of Wolf followers, as well as an increase in the faith of Wolf Girls being real in the scenario where more Wolf Girl mascots are created.

Tis not mockery, but the full voluntary submission to said existence!

You know what's interesting?

A lot (most?) nostr apps won't (can't) shut down once they're out.

#nostr is Pandora's box that was opened when it was released.

Projects built on top of it are mini-Pandora boxes.

Ah ok, if that's the case, then I think this is a better UX (along with being more decentralized), all the while giving more control (in a sense) to users, in comparison to manual input of multiple relays or random auto relay setup, right?

Instead of me adding 10 relays, I can add 1 hub (or 2 just in case) that I like, and those hubs can do the work for me in terms of the relays they aggregate, and they can add however many relays they want for maximum decentralization.

This got me thinking, i'm assuming this is what you meant with "expose their local nostr-relay-tray", is that a hub doesn't have to manually add relays, but keep listening to relays that want to expose themselves hubs/aggregators and they'd be automatically added.
