I guess I'm one of those #vtubers. Having fun talking about general topics, vrchat/similar, and games. Also #indiedev #gamedev. You can call me: Freak فْرِيكٌ フリク (still learning Nihongo). #envtuber #podcast #gaming #gamedev

It's lighting in a bottle.

Though in all seriousness, the best way I found to explain how all of this works in the simplest way is with cups and water.

Man... using nostr:npub10r8xl2njyepcw2zwv3a6dyufj4e4ajx86hz6v4ehu4gnpupxxp7stjt2p8 is such a breeze.

Just install, find what you want or what you have, and install/update.

No login, registration, useless other processes to go through to get what i want.

Search -> Install/Update.

Done.

So much better than trying to do that same with Playstore.

And the best thing? It'll somehow get even better from here.

Few actually understand and accept "fiction is fiction".

If you want to see if someone understands and accepts that sentence, ask them about the morality of extreme scenarios of fiction.

When talking about hacks and leaks, in regards to one attack:

- Traditional centralized systems that we currently use:

100 million accounts are compromised!

- Nostr:

1 dude was compromised.

So apparently nip46 is a thing, and the Amber app has it, but as a 'remote' signing function, I've searched but haven't found any #nostr client that supports this.

The closest thing I've come across that uses this function and flow (Amber on my phone: tap QR scan -> scan QR on my PC (or on a separate phone app) -> authorize -> done. Then I'd start getting push notifications to authorize events, adjust settings, etc) is this site: https://smartvaults.dev/

However, its specifically using their own app so Amber doesn't work with it.

That's actually most hackathons, including game jams, regardless of there being a prize or not.

Disregarding the purpose of a hackathon / jams, the actual expectation of these things is to meet people, collab, vibe checks, having fun, and maybe make something cool out of it, with the increased chance of a group continuing their project.

Side purpose: organizer's marketing push and talent hunt.

Not saying there shouldn't be curation, but to make it so that if a user wants to open the profile in their preferred site/app that's not in the curated list, they can simply search it up and click (2, maybe 3 steps), instead of copy->close current site/app->open preferred site/app->search/paste, click (5 steps)

Twitter testing out a dislike button apparently.

I'm way ahead of them. Look at this beauty x3

The "Open with..." list is not hardcoded but based on NIP-89 metadata. For 1) you can recommend/favorite apps in https://nostrapp.link/ and clients should show them as the first option, search would be nice too in case you don't have a favorite. 2) is the data apps are using to create the relevant URLs so it's in nostr already.

Oh, nice! =3

I like the idea of having a site that shows my #nostr profile and provide people with a "open with" option and a selection of sites/app to open my profile in, however, the way that its done now is definitely not optimized for nostr.

Considering that there's always new clients being released, it's unrealistic to expect the devs of said site to constantly maintain support for a constantly growing list of clients.

There needs to be a new way to go about this. I'm thinking of two methods (can be both actually):

1. Manually: The "open with/on" would be a text field and the user adds the correct site url (the user would need to know what comes after .com like .com/profile , or... etc). If its a mobile app, then toggle "app" and type in the app name.

2. A new nip would be used where every client dev would publish their correct URL or app-address, along with any other relevant info, and relays would hold that info, in which case users would just start typing in the "open with" search field and the real-time search results would appear, then they'd select it.

I'd say that a lot of products would benefit from adding a "Use Cases" examples section on their site.

Team:

"We built this thing!"

Knowledgeable target audience:

"Cool!"

Everyone else:

"Cool? I read the what it does, but I didn't really understand it. Wish there were examples"

In text, images, or video, whatever form you'd present it, it'd be useful.

I should look into and make ones for my stuff as well.

Development continues!

Discussions happened, and now I've started working with nostr:npub1yay8e9sqk94jfgdlkpgeelj2t5ddsj2eu0xwt4kh4xw5ses2rauqnstrdv to bring nostr:npub17jl3ldd6305rnacvwvchx03snauqsg4nz8mruq0emj9thdpglr2sst825x , slowly but surely, to life.

Check out the new post with all the details.

The next update will most likely talk about how things are going and what has been developed so far from here til then.
