Thanks for sharing. I think most rebalancing tools wouldn’t even work as they use a max cost setting which is a fraction of the outgoing fees.
I think your scenario is also quite unusual at least from my experience. In your scenario one of the nodes is probably a source and the other one has set fees to high for a natural flow to happen. This means over time the balance will move to the side of the sink and the sink can then either decide to lower the outgoing rate, which allows natural flow to happen and the other side to rebalance.
That makes sense! Thanks for the clarification. Yes, totally agree. We only seem to scratch on the surface of our potentials.
Good news is, I have recently orange pilled someone high up in the ladder of an energy company. crossing fingers that I can start something with them or get them to start something themselves . :-D
Love the pump. 📈I feel like institutional adoption including the increase of black holes like Strategy is finally getting traction.
I can follow when you say „buy bitcoin“ and that people around us often seem to miss the bigger picture, but what is wrong with renewables and batteries? Trying to understand.
If you ever want to convince your partner of not having kids, visit an aquarium on a rainy day on the weekend.
Congrats, what a milestone! Onwards to 100k…
Currently in France and when I see all these electrical heaters, I get fantasies nostr:npub1k8s3skyy5mg5h07w8zvuk5lgrqadmejz7fjdpl60zaznw8sxzdxqxm6y88
Add some roasted nuts to it. Pure joy and you will feel longer satisfied :-)
I have heavily looked into mining and considered even a significant investment, but after carefully looking at the market, I don’t think it makes sense unless you combine it with a related business where you have unused energy. Mining definitely is more risky than it looks at a first glance.
Yes, but this only works if both nodes are on the same fee level. Often this is not the case and there is no or only a rare chance for natural flow.
I depends also a lot on your fees. If you are a sink for them, there is little they can do to get the liquidity back but rebalancing. If you charge too high fees (>10ppm) they have little chance to rebalance.
Learn how liquidity flows and position yourself wisely.
I fantastic resource, I can only recommend everyone to read who wants to start a lightning node.
Finally got my parents to truly see #Bitcoin. It was never about convincing them to invest—it was about sharing the deep hope I feel for how Bitcoin can heal the world. After countless conversations, doubts, and debates… they finally get it. What a journey. What a relief. ❤️🔥
I am back, completely new setup, stronger than ever before: https://amboss.space/node/03a92a92e64eca60c122e87e90c6373e6ce23b171ab6f8f5f24c1512b668629a1a - let me know if you are up for dual funded channels. I am aiming for 40/50 channels with 300M+ capacity in this first stage.
Tried to resolve unresponsive und crashing node by creating a swap partition by resizing an existing one. Corrupted the filesystem. Just very stupid by me. I will come back stronger than ever!
Sorry everyone, killed my lightning node on Friday. Please FC your channels with me. There is a saying that every lightning node owner needs to go through this. ;-)
Another lesson learned.
