they start by being on their PTA because their kids are in the school and they want to make sure the school spends their money correctly
they buy some real estate and they decide to run for office just to protect their investment
The problem is that the system itself is corrupt from the top down
and honest politicians get destroyed and chewed up as quickly as possible
I don't think it's a nature of politics to be corrupt
In a Bitcoin denominated world I think politicians would have to work very hard to represent their constituents and earn their salaries
