I love osmanlı crafts 🤩

Did you ever wonder how hairbrushes are made from horns?

I was lucky enough to meet an usta and decided to make one together so that I can understand the process.

It looks simple but it takes so much focus and patience. And we spent more than three hours to make this one, but it can last for 100+ years 👀 He said I can even pass it down to my grandkids:p

But then I asked this master why did he pick this craft, as it's so tiring, and definitely not something you can make lots of money from, as he can only produce two brushes like this in a day. He said he want to make something beautiful and permanent in this world, how nice we still have people like this in this corrupted world.

I started to experiment with going out without phones these days, for a few people it works great, all you need is to confirm the time and location.

But for some, somehow seems unworkable, the phone almost feels like a tool to be irresponsible so can "communicate" 🙈

If everyone can be reliable and show up on time, why do we even need to carry the phone around? I mean people in the past just write letters and meet, and it worked.

I used to be one of those city people who keep buying things, but now I enjoy finding craftsmen to make things together.

Not only does it slow down the whole "buying" process, but also I can see with my eyes how things are being made from scratch. But the most important part is I really need to *think* about what I want because the last thing you want is to make something useless and ended up wasting so much time and money.

But then why do so many people still work in a job they hate and buy useless things so to impress people they do not even like?

Neither, but I was having breakfast at a friend's home, and his mum made this delicious jam 🤩

One of the most delicious things I have discovered this year is Lutenitsa from Bulgarian mums, mixed with tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers 🤤

It's so good but barely anyone talks about it, weird.

My alarm clock changed from noisy traffic to happy singing birds 🦜

I have traveled from East to West and ate at many places, from the so-called Michelin to street food.

I think the best ones are usually those served with *one dish* only, which are usually old and family restaurants ( these are real craftsmen, a bit hard to come by); And the second best are home-cook style ones, especially cooked by mums - fun fact, these are usually hidden and modest looking, finding them almost feels like treasure hunting.

The worst are those fancy restaurants located in touristy places, and the second worst is those focused-on-the-looks types. and guess what? These are usually in super convenient locations, so no effort is even needed.

Finding good food does take effort, like everything else in life. 👀

If you are wondering why I got so much time to learn, I guess mostly because I muted all political things, news, and toxic people in my life. 🫡

Learned how to make paper yesterday 🤓 It can be either made from recycled paper or trees.

It is amazing how you can play around making different sizes and thicknesses, coloring with herbs, decorating with flowers, or even experimenting the smell with essential oils.

Beauty surrounds us, but usually we need to be walking in a garden to know it.

Seljuk architecture, aren't they gorgeous

Just gifted a newborn baby some Bitcoin, and it was fun.

Basically, I set up a cold wallet and sent some sats, and gifted him two pieces of paper with 12 words ( one more copy at their family member's house just in case...) because I think the best present that one can gift to others is either Bitcoin ( (self-responsibility ) or knowledge.

Selling your time to do a soulless job so that you can afford to buy more useless shi* is probably the most stupid thing you can ever do.

Yet the entire system is telling us to do this - how mad.

It's a bit “scary” how many things I no longer care about, but it's liberating - I can focus all my energy on the things I truly care.

Nostr is probably one of the little corners online where people still genuinely share things, instead of trying so hard to catch eyeballs or create anxiety so to sell fiat products.
